Trigger warning - stillbirth

Hi ladies this is a very emotive subject and I apologise if anyone reading this has suffered the heartbreak of a baby born sleeping.

I am currently ttc but have developed a real anxiety over the fact my partner has sadly had 2 stillborn children with previous relationships, one when he was a late teen (first girlfriend) and then with his ex wife when he was in his 30s. I know he himself fears this happening again and sees himself as the common link which breaks my heart for him.

I know Google is most likely not my friend in this situation, but I have been trying to find out whether there is a higher risk if I were to become pregnant but can't seem to find much, as understandably most articles focus on issues on the female side.

Does anyone have any knowledge/experience on this particular point please?

Has he had any genetic testing? Was there any cause found for the stillbirths?
I was under the impression that there are certain genetic disorders that can cause stillbirth and it seems so incredibly unlucky to experience this twice with two different women.

@Oneortwo2022 thank you for your reply, no he hasn't had any testing but I have been thinking it does seem unusual to have this happen with different women so wondered if there could be something genetic. I didn't know it was possible to screen for this sort of thing though.

I think you really need to direct these questions to a doctor who specialises in genetics, fetal genetics or whatever the term might be. Maybe google what's in your area, you might have to consider private consultations.

Do you mean 2 full term stillbirths with the 2 different women, or that they both had miscarriages (which wouldn't be so much of a weird coincidence)?

@Regenbogen22 thank you, I will see if I can find a specialist in the area. One was a late miscarriage, 20 weeks and the other was around 30 weeks so neither full term but both well beyond the 12 week mark.
