Private Gender Scan at 15 weeks

Hi All, I'm fairly new to mumsnet as It's my first pregnancy. Yesterday I had a private gender scan at 15 +2 because I'm so eager and just want to buy lovely clothes. The sonographer revealed a girl and I'm over the moon as wanted my first to be girl. I had this gut feeling all these weeks was boy so it's a shock, just want it to be true but honestly I can't see anything on there (scan) which suggests female. All I was told is a girl and given a pic I can't make sense of. How accurate are these things and has anyone been disappointed in gender or rather sex determination scans? My mate said it was definitely a boy based on nub at 13 week dating scan so any input would be appreciated.

@Newmummy1022I’m not a believer in the nub theory tbh, I’d never usually even attempt to determine sex before 16 weeks

@MissMaple82 that mounds awful, must have been a horrible experience, a healthy child is ultimately what all parents want regardless of sex of child. I agree with you I've just done some research on the FAQ and my place also have specialist in, amongst other fields: midwife sonographers, antenatal teachers, breastfeeding specialists and baby massage instructors, bearing in mind the only thing the clinic offers are prenatal scans. Should have done my research

OP I had a private gender scan at 14 weeks and they told me it was a boy. I had a blood test done and results came back with girl.
My anomaly scan is in a few weeks time so we'll see what they say then.
I would advise to wait!

@MummyRR I am going to just be patient and wait it's only a month.
I keep looking back at all the gender scan pics and all I can now see is boy parts, it maybe just n my head. Attached are some shots they sent digitally. Opinions anyone?

Hey, just wanted to check in and see if this scan was confirmed? (also a first time mom going for a gender scan at 15 weeks 😅)

15 weeks is still very early. All the clinics near us won’t do scans to determine sex until at least 16 weeks for this reason.

Sorry but I couldn’t get over listening to your mate over a trained sonographer, with is a post graduate qualified radiographer.
