31 weeks and toddler jumped on stomach

Hi all,

So this morning I was still asleep and my 3.5yo decided a good way to wake me up would be to climb on the bed and jump on me (in a cuddly way as in she belly flopped on my whole torso) I was asleep on my back so my stomach took all the weight. I know that babies are well protected with lots of fluid etc and I'm not in pain though it took my breath away when it happened. I have felt barely any movements since but that's not too out of the ordinary as baby is small for dates and I don't have a lot of strong movements anyway. If it was you would you have phoned in?

I would just to be on the safe side. I'm sure everything is ok though Flowers

Definitely ring and see if they want to see you (I would imagine they will). No harm and you'll get a listen into your baby Smile

Did you ring @Fairy45?

Isonthecase · 13/04/2022 17:02

It would save so much time if there was an automatic reply on these saying 'if you're wondering if you need to ring the midwives, ring them.' Please stop second guessing yourself and call.

Holskey · 13/04/2022 17:29

I'd ring because of the movements.

BetterBee · 13/04/2022 19:44

How did you get on?

Nikki037297 · 13/04/2022 19:49

Yes definitely I’d ring. They will maybe stick you on the monitor

Hugasauras · 13/04/2022 19:49

I definitely would. Are you rhesus negative? As you might need an anti-D if there was a significant impact.

Fairy45 · 13/04/2022 19:58

Hi yes I phoned but as soon as I posted I felt some movements so explained that and they suggested I monitored and asked me to monitor at home for an hour then phone back so we decided between us after an hour that it didn't require hospital monitoring this time. I was also home alone with the 3 children I already have with my mum and dp both working and the only friends suitable to watch the children away on holidays. I've started having some stomach cramps this evening though so I'm off up there now for a check. Thanks for replies and concern.
@isonthecase I think we always know we should and I always think the same when I read threads but I think it's just moral support that people look for. Sometimes it may be so obvious to the outside world but not to the person experiencing it.

@Fairy45 Definitely, I've given myself the same talk plenty of times on the second or third visit that week! It's so easy to second guess your instincts but they really are there for a reason and any midwife who doesn't support when you're worried is in the wrong job. Hope all goes well 🙂
