Worried about weight gain

I know this may sound silly but I'm really panicking about gaining weight whilst pregnant. I'm 7+ weeks and watching the number steadily creep up is really freaking me out.
I understand that of course I'll put weight on, and it's perfectly healthy, but I fell pregnant when I was at the heaviest I've ever been - just back from holiday so had a good few pounds to use, and now I'm worried I'm gonna spiral...
I don't know why I'm posting this really, it's just a mid morning panic, has anyone else felt this way?
Is it possible to lose weight healthily whilst pregnant? I'm just so wobbly about this 😢

Yes, I feel exactly the same. We did IVF and I gained a few pounds through that, so it’s hard to see the weight creeping up. I’m the heaviest I’ve been for years now! I’m not overweight but conscious that I don’t want to end up with a massive gain to lose in the future.

Has your diet changed a lot? I’m snacking all the time as it’s the only thing that helps with the nausea, but hoping that will ease off in the second trimester.

Not really, I'm working from home so probably eating less - have a big breakfast then a dinner, rarely lunch and little snacking...the only thing is that I am literally doing no exercise, working from home means I move from one chair to work then to the sofa when finished.... going to make myself go for a walk at lunchtime (last time I did this I got really dizzy and had to sit down 🙄) so hoping that doesn't happen again...

OP we are put on paid leave from the minute we inform work, which meant I went from an active job to literally sitting at home all day. I noticed the weight creeping on.

I go for a loooong walk every day, about 1 to 1.5 hours and coupled with a bit of YouTube pregnancy core training now and then it's really kept it in check.

One thing I'd say is not to immediately equate weight gain to being fat when pregnant. I'm at 22+5 and have gained 6kg/nearly a stone so far and you would not be able to tell at all other than the fact that I have a bump and my boobs are bigger. Otherwise everything else is still exactly the same!

Aww thanks everyone... I just need to convince myself it's good weight gain, and stop panicking about it...
Gonna try and go for a walk at lunch just even to get some air and get moving, hopefully that'll help me feel better....I just feel I've gone soo squishy all over lol!

I gained loads in the first few weeks then it slowed down. I'm 25 weeks now and I think I've gain about 18lbs in total. Like Juno though it is all on my bump, my boobs have grown but look smaller than before as bump is over shadowing it.

I WFH but try to get out for a walk every day. I get in fruit as well to stay away from the treats.

I definitely felt the most bloated/out of shape in the first trimester. This really bothered me as I was post ED.

However once I got a bump, it's the most confident I felt in my body, EVER

I felt the same! But I kept reminding myself: if I grow that means the baby grows and that means the baby is healthy! I put on 8kgs in my first trimester and 4 after that. You have to make sure you eat well (People say you have to eat for two. What they don't understand is that you have to eat fibres and vitamins for two, not calories). It's gonna be easier to lose it if you put on less. (Especially if you're planning to breastfeed: being glued to the sofa all day makes you want to snack constantly).

In the first trimester I felt I gained lots of weight and was very bloated and uncomfortable.
This eased off in the second trimester and I felt a lot better about myself. Lots of people make the mistake and think they are eating for two straight away but irs not the case.
You can still exercise, as long as you take care of yourself and just maintain your normal healthy diet.
I’ve gained 2 stone during my pregnancy and it’s making me really worry. My midwife and all my family keep telling me I’m all bump and my weight will go down once the baby, fluid and placenta are out.
