Unusual discharge at 20 weeks (TMI)

I'm 20 weeks pregnant and have just been for a wee. I always check for blood when I wipe as I suspect most pregnant women do.

When I wiped, there was a lot of discharge on the tissue but it was unusual. It was sticky and creamy but with a very greeny-yellow tinge. I've felt baby moving this morning so I'm not massively worried but I have a history of extreme pre-term labour and am worried this may have been part of my mucus plug. I understand they can regenerate but should I be concerned?

I would call your maternity unit for advice - I think it's definitely worth getting checked out. Hope it turns out to be nothing to worry about Thanks

I get clumps of that the whole way through pregnancy...in my case it means nothing. I got it my last pregnancy and I'm 19 weeks currently with DC2 and it's happening again.

By all means get yourself checked out if you're worried about it though, that's what the midwives are there for!

I'd definitely get checked out especially with the history of preterm labour, could be cervical weakness leading to the cervix opening and mucus plug coming away. If that is the case, they can maybe give you a stitch to keep it closed. Hope it's not the case but you can never be too careful.

You can contract infections during pregnancy as you can at any tube. Give your GP a call in the morning. Hope all is well Smile

Thanks everyone. I having had any more since. No new pains worrying me and baby is as active as ever. I'll definitely be ringing my GP in the morning though!
