Repeated use of salicylic acid during first trimester in hand soap - anyone used it and baby been okay?

I have repeatedly used a hand soap that contains salicylic acid throughout my whole first trimester (didn't know salicylic acid was in it). I use the soap every day between 5 and 25 times (due to OCD). I wash it straight off, unlike a product such as a moisturizer that gets left on the skin to sink in. Some days i have used it less than others but it has been every day.

I am so worried i have now damaged the baby as i know salicylic acid should be avoided. It is 3rd or 4th down on the ingredient list on the hand soap and i am guessing it is a low percentage included.

Why is salicylic bad for the fetus? What harm can it do? What are the risks of it? and has anyone else done something similar and their baby been fine?

There doesn't seem to be any warnings on using it topically. I use a toner with salicylic acid. Maybe swap to a different soap for peace of mind but I wouldn't be too worried about it, as you said it's not a top ingredient and you've been rinsing it off.

If you eat it, it's like aspirin, a blood thinner, but you haven't, so everything will be ok.

OP have you name-changed recently? This sounds like your other three threads from a couple of weeks ago

If so you need to address your anxiety about these normal things.

Bluntly - it's hand soap. You wash it off straightaway. It's not being absorbed and even if a minute amount of salicylic acid did get in your system, it's aspirin. It's won't harm.

It's only if you ingest it that it's a problem. You won't be able to absorb enough through your skin to cause any harm.

I think retinoid is the only skincare to be avoided during pregnancy.
