30 weeks pregnant now and starting to pack my hospital bag!
First baby so not sure what I 100% need and what I don't 🙈

Any essentials to take? Due 2nd week in June 🥰

31 weeks here, I'm mostly just following this list - www.nhs.uk/pregnancy/labour-and-birth/preparing-for-the-birth/pack-your-bag-for-labour/

Plus lanolin nipple cream, & some ready made bottles in case BFing doesn't work out.

Definitely take a comfy pillow from home. Will be a godsend if you end up staying a few nights

I had a baby last March and my absolute essentials were..
For you:
Extra long phone charger
Water bottle with a straw
Lip balm
Toiletries
Pjs
Flip flops for the shower
Humongous black knickers - 3 sizes bigger than usual

For the baby check with your midwife what the hospital provides mine gave nappies, bottles, blankets and wipes so we didn't really need those. If you buy large ziplock bags and put in 1x vest, 1x sleepsuit and label them with the size and first outfit you want just incase someone else dresses baby.

On sleepsuits check what lbs newborn go up to, asda is quite big but tesco is just about right. We packed newborn and up to 1 month and there wasn't much difference and they were far too big for her.

I've had 2 babies and here is what helped me.
4 labelled zip lock bags:
'During labour' (lip balm, sweets, hair band)
'Newborn size' (2 hats, 3 vests and 3 sleep suits)
(Repeat with '0-3m' and 'tiny baby' as you never know what size you'll need).
Get your birth partner to physically pack the bags as he or she will be navigating their way through all the stuff the most.
Pack lots of chocolate! After my second was born 12 days ago I ate an entire slab of caramilk and it was bliss.

Btw on the comfy pillow from home thing - don't pack one you are too attached to. Mine got blood etc on it and the midwives binned it.

Peppermint tea bags in case you end up having a c-section, and also snacks for post-birth as well as labour

Coming from a different angle there were some things I packed that were on recomendation lists that I just didn't need;
-nursing bras- I was unexpecradly in for a week and only got it out to wear home, just wore nothing under my jammies the rest of the time far less faff
-my kindle- I was induced so it was useful while waiting but I honestly thought I would use if after aswell while baby slept etc, don't know what I was thinking no way was there time for that
-earplugs-apparently to help you sleep with all the hospital noise which yer sounds great till you realise you also won't hear you baby!
-teddy for baby-sounds lovely for first pics but it never came out of the bag. We did have a stressful time though ds was poorly so maybe it would have otherwise.

I would say though take your normal shampoo etc. I had mini ones nicked from a hotel thinking it would be fine for a one off, after a week my head itched like crazy.
The most important things I found were whatever will make life easier, long charging cable, bottle with a straw, bag with pockets so things are easy to find. Also don't forget a change of clothes for your partner, I threw up all over him right after birth poor bugger but luckily we had put him a spare top in.
