UTI + itchy and swollen genital parts

Hi, I am 12 weeks pregnant and I have had a UTI about a month ago, took antibiotics, and then the midwife asked to give back a urine sample and they detected again a UTI (which maybe wasn't resolved with antibiotics) so I started to take amoxicillin again. However now, I started to also have very itchy and swollen genital parts and it makes it difficult to walk (especially at work). When I urinate it starts burning but not too much.
The next GP appointment I can have is in 4 days.
I was wondering if the itchy part is UTI, herpes or some sort of yeast infection.
Has anyone already experienced that and what was that? Also do you have any recommendations on how to relieve the pain?

Many thanks in advance

It's really common to get thrush after taking antibiotics.

Yes it's thrush after the antbx. Get the tablet from the pharmacy it's much better than the cream you can get.

This kind of happened to me. I was experiencing swelling and itching. I used a thrush pessary over night and used canestan cream twice a day for a week and it cleared.

Hope you get it sorted as it is very annoying.

Definitely sounds like thrush!

Thank you so much guys.

@bettertocryinamercedes the gp told me they don't give tablets for pregnant women, is your fine for that and can you get it without prescriptions?

You can’t get the oral medication but you can get a pessary. Don’t tell them you’re pregnant or they might not sell it to you. The stuff that is canesten is safe to take in pregnancy - I was prescribed it 7 times (I’m in Scotland)

I don't think I told them I was pregnant and took it anyway 😬

I've had it heaps of times so I never thought anything of it. Sorry if I gave wrong advice

Be careful with oral antifungals in pregnancy. Much better to stick to topical unless a Dr tells you otherwise.
