Hi all,
Not really sure what I’m hoping to get from me posting this is, I suppose to get some sort of reassurance from anyone else? Bit of a long post, so apologies if you get bored halfway through 😂

So I’m currently 29+4 and a FTM. To give you a bit of context, I regularly felt kicks and was in some sort of pattern since around week 23-26, however since week 27 I’ve not been feeling a lot of movement.
I was in hospital twice before week 27 to check on reduced movement. They said nothing was wrong upon monitoring, but due to being in twice, they’ve booked me in for growth scans from week 27 and week 29. 1st scan showed a build up of amniotic fluid, and measuring on the smaller side of normal of femur length (5th percentile). Due to amniotic fluid, I was booked in for a glucose test which came back normal, no issues.
2nd growth scan showed amniotic fluid had reduced and baby was growing, but still on smaller side (9th percentile). No major worries but more just regular monitoring was recommended.

In between growth scans, I also had caught Covid, so that didn’t help! 😭

I’ve been up to the hospital a few days after last growth scan due to lack of movement and they again, monitored me and found no issues, and have booked me in with a consultant to keep a regular eye on growth, seeing as no one had got in touch with me to book in since last scan.

It’s hard when everyone at the similar stage to me shows videos of their baby kicking on the outside and apart from what I got in my 2nd trimester, my 3rd trimester so far has just been nothing but worry and anxiety over what’s considered normal and what’s not 😔. I do feel baby during the day as I can tell when they’re against certain parts of my stomach, due to it being rock hard, BUT just no kicks or seeing them move???

Surely a smaller baby won’t effect movement and even if they are lazy, surely I should still feel some sort of movement, even if once a day?
I’m just worried something will end up being wrong with my baby and I won’t really have much of a clue, apart from what shows at each scan!

ANY ADVICE? ❤️❤️
Thank you xx

No advice sorry as I am only 22 weeks but bumping for you.

Do you have an anterior placenta? I do and they said it would make feeling movements harder but as pregnancy progresses to always go in if I am worried. She gave me an example of a woman who went in for reduced movements 9 times and all was ok then went in on the 10th time and baby needed to be delivered. So never feel silly for going in xx

No, posterior which is weird as anterior would make more sense given the situation! But then to feel more during 2nd trimester than what I'm only getting now in my 3rd is baffling to me!

My girl I was told had a small femur and would be a small baby. She was lazy and I was always in for lack of movement.

She is currently 21 months and was 7b 12 at birth.

That's the thing also, I always feel a bit like a nuisance when I go in which is silly as I know that's what they're there for, and whilst im thankful nothing is wrong, it's like ok but no one's really giving me any justification for why this is happening - or is this normal etc, just need some reassurance. Doesn't help my first pregnancy ended in a MC either and I'm just anxious a bit due to that anyway x

Good to know you had a similar experience and a positive outcome. X

I had a small baby and i felt like i always had much less movement that other pregnant women i knew. But importantly for me, she had a very definite pattern to her movements so i only had to go in once for reduced movement monitoring. I didn't see anything on the outside until 34w maybe? She was predicted 9th centile and i was advised to induce at 39w, but she came of her own accord at 38w weighing 5lbs 12oz.

Currently going through similar situation. Hope your journey was great with not allot of stress -any update you could share? I hope all went well with your LO - i have been having same issues with short femurs since w29 & w31, measuring below 5%. Overall baby weight is slightly below 50%, as all
Rest of measurements. So i guess small baby? My initial DS scan was 1:20000 but doc suggested i do NIPT just to be safe. Ive been so anxious as i read things on "dr. Google" about short femurs as soft markers for DS & dwarfism. I just want to enjoy and be stress free these last weeks of my pregnancy journey.
