How to tell people I'm not drinking...

Without revealing I'm pregnant? I have a few dinners planned in the next few weeks and I usually have a glass (or two) of G&Ts, I really don't want to tell anyone until I'm showing. Any advice?

Driving is the failsafe option... Never been busted with that one - taking "turns" with DH.

General fitness kick - not wanting to drink too many calories.

Or non-alcoholic drink in an appropriate glass.

I was only rumbled at overnight stays when I'd usually have a drink and didn't. No one had any clue on day trips because of driving.

On both my pregnancies I did the fake drinking trick, including on my sister's hen night... the only person who twigged that night was also pregnant and doing the same thing 😆

Driving or fake drink. Other women/astute People will twig on and suspect but sure just laugh and shrug it off - not much else you can do
If they mention it they’re the rude ones..

Just fake drink. Never say "antibiotics", you may as well walk around with an "I'm pregnant" sandwich board.

Or drive. Nobody is going to be paying that much attention to your alcohol intake.

I did a couple of social events when people didn't know. I just drove and said money was abit tight and was also up early the next day so wanted to feel fresh x

Any woman aged between 18 and 50 using the antibiotics story will be assumed to be pregnant.

Whatever you say/do (eg pretend a tonic has gin in, order alcohol but only pretend to drink it) , some people will guess. If they’re polite they’ll say nothing but many people are impolite!

@ChloeHel

Best excuse is you are on the antibiotic metronidazole for a tooth infection. Can’t drink whilst taking them and for a week after you’ve stopped taking them! So perfect cover up :)

You can drink from 24 hrs after the last dose. I've had many courses!

@Obelisk

I always found it easiest just to accept a drink and then not drink it.
Yes I agree- once everyone sees you have ordered a drink no one checks you are actually drinking it!
