37 weeks - being v sick (again) and sensations in right rib cage - could it have gone breech?

my sickness which started at 6 weeks is as bad if not worse than at its height - can't keep water down, diet coke just about stays, but now milk is threatening to reappear. being sick at least 8 times a morning and now in the a'noon and evening.

the thing now which is different is that the sickness happens immediately after a heavy lot of wriggling.

i've been told each time that baby is head down, though not engaged so far, but i'm also getting wriggles in right rib cage. can any part of baby be there if it's head down?? i can't work out how it can be positioned if so.. could it have gone breech?

have also had sharp pains in bottom left and sort of scratching in fanjo area - which i took to mean it was nudging down there to be engaged. when babies become engaged is it normal to get a sort of stinging down to where you wee from?

seeing midwife tomorrow but grateful for any thoughts on the waffly questions above..?

have you got pain in your chest, like heartburn?

lulumama · 07/01/2008 18:56

is your wee dark?

Beapatient · 07/01/2008 19:02

tons of heartburn and ranitidin doesn't help nor gaviscon as both come up with minutes- had ketones last week and before xmas when i gave samples. at xmas i rehydrated and it went back to normal for a week, but last week ketones showed again, just trying to keep off a drip now if poss hoping end in sight. perhaps i'm being too optimistic

annoying about milk tho and v confused by the pains in right ribs as feels like kicks..? v odd

wiggles in right rib cage probably means it's feet are there, just where they should be for optimal exit positioning. I have them, too. The position is called something like OAP... baby facing you're back, head slightly to the left as you look down, back curving around upwards so feet to the upper right.
Heartburn getting worse because blighter is putting down fat and weeing loads now so you're bump is probably big enough to balance a tea tray on, if it's anything like mine (36 weeks today).

Apologies for offenses against the apostrophe Gods in last post

Beapatient · 07/01/2008 19:06

Is it constant pain in the ribs - or just when baby is kicking?

lljkk · 07/01/2008 19:12

LOA position is what I meant, described here better. LOA is best, ROA is still reasonable, LOP or ROP means "back labour" -- not so good.

lljkk · 07/01/2008 19:13

VVV is right to ask you about constant heartburn coz it can be a sign of pre-eclampsia, Midwife is best person to check on that possiblity for you.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 07/01/2008 19:19

have a look at this

Beapatient · 07/01/2008 19:44

just a quickie, off to hosp as protein in urine and blood pressure is up on what it usually has been. midwife also thinks my face looked swollen so on safe side. mainly for sickness tho as not kept anything down through the night and today.

tks to all those who added a msg y/day - much appreciated - she said they might think about inducing if 24 hour urine shows protein up and bp doesn 't go down.

fingers crossed tho it;ll just be a drip and i'll be okay for the last few weeks

best wishes and tks again
