Bleeding, Empty Uterus but Positive pregnancy test

Please help - I know I have lost the pregnancy but not sure what is now going on.....

At 6 wks pg I started bleeding on Xmas day. I have two young chidlren and just knew that something was wrong as bleeding really red and small stringy bits. Anyway I got my head around the fact I had miscarried and after about 5 days bleeding stopped but then started again couple of days later and 2 weeks later is just a red as day 1. I have had cramps throughout.

So.....today I went for a scan to check everything has come away which it had - at least they said nothing is showing in my uterus but I had a +ve pregnancy test and my cervix (after an internal) was not open at all which it should be if normal miscarriage. I don't feel it's Ectopic and have to wait for a second blood test on Weds to check hormone levels but is hard to wait until then - I just want closure so I can move on. Could is just be one of those things? Someone else at the hspital said they only bled heavily for 2 days with a miscarriage and then had a negative result.

Any ideas if you can have ectopic without one sided pain (I have had heavy cramps and a lot of bowel movements) or what else this is?

Dr said most +ve results are due to tissues being left behind but I don't have any according to scan - ahhhh!

Hey guys, I'm new to mumsnet but really need some advice. I'm sat here in floods of tears not know what to do. I'm not even sure I'm posting this in the right area.
So me and my oh had sex while I was ovulating so I did a test last week and came back positive, through the week iv done 8 all together, each one getting a little darker. I would be due on tomorrow but as I'm not pregnant wouldn't expect a period. However, just been to the bathroom to notice I have some very light brown discharge and I have period pain. I know you can get spotting but this cramping is exactly like I get when I get a period. I'm so worried I don't know what to do! ! Please help. Sorry for the TMI XXX

But in response to you, why are you sure you aren't pg when you have had 8 positive test results? Bonkers. Implantation bleeding?

mad I think she's more concerned about the possibility of a chemical pregnancy/MC rather than not actually believing she's pregnant... There's no need to be so blasé. It's completely normal and understandable to have these worries whilst bleeding during pregnancy, so not something I would call 'bonkers' myself

ricey bleeding during early pregnancy can be nothing at all to worry about or could indicate something more sinister such as a chemical pregnancy. At this stage it's simply to early to tell either way. If the bleeding continues your GP might draw blood to see if your HCG is rising or falling (mine doesn't) but unfortunately a scan won't be able to tell you anything for at least another 2-3 weeks.

Hi..was 6 weeks pregnant and started bleeding..it was with some cramps went for scan and results showed empty uterus..but I tested pregnancy and its positive... Did an HCG and it also confirmed there is pregnancy..I'm confused... Please help me....
