Baby not growing

Hi ladies I'm was just wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation where they're being told different things about babies growth each week.
2 weeks ago I was told that the babies cord pressure was high and that she was small but wasn't a major concern as she wasn't too small.
I had another scan last week where they told me the cord pressure was fine and there was nothing to worry about.
This week I've seen the midwife and she said that her measurements haven't changed at all in the last 2 weeks and that my baby hasn't grown at all in 2 weeks.
I have quoter scan booked for tomorrow. The last 2 scans they said she was on the small side anyway. I'm just getting stressed out with being told 4 different things about the babies growth all within 2 weeks

How far along are you, OP?

Are you saying that you had a scan 2 weeks ago and last week and then you saw a midwife this week? How can she say the baby's measurements haven't changed for 2 weeks if you haven't had the scan this week yet? She doesn't know current measurements of the baby?

Are you having a growth scan tomorrow?

It doesn't sound like they told you different things, they consistently said baby appears on the smaller side. This might not be a huge worry if you are monitored correctly - this is because they will make an intervention if needed and they will also advise you on your delivery options. It's a good thing to be monitored if there's any such risk. Regarding your cord pressure, I've never heard of it being checked. Do you mean that it might be compressed and this was identified at a scan? Is there a reduced/slower blood flow through it ?

Try not to worry before your scan, from what you've said you don't know the current position but you are monitored regularly Flowers

Bumping for you, hopefully someone who experienced similar will help Flowers

I had weekly scans and towards the end daily scans and the estimated size and weight went up and down each time.
Baby was growth restricted in the end and had to be born early but gained weight fast after birth.

Cord pressure can go up and down. If the baby is leaning on it, it can give a false high reading. I had a doppler scan today and cord pressure was lower than at a growth scan last week.

If baby is small, then you should be very closely monitored. I'm having weekly scans and twice weekly CTG monitoring. I know how stressful it is but hopefully, like me, they'll keep you monitored and going to term if it's safe to do so x

I think I wouldnt rely on the midwives measurements. They arent very accurate.

I have had small babies and the only two times of real concern was high fluid and iugr and worse placenta death and iugr.

I wasnt too concerned with the high fluid and slow down in growth but obviously the placenta problem pregnancy was more concerning. Both times once it was confirmed I had more scans

So if everything else looks fine on the scan it's very positive that it could hopefully just be a blip in the midwife measurements.

They did the the growth scan 2 weeks ago and said she was small and it could be to do with the pressure being high from the cord They didn't really say much on her cord other then that so not sure what they meant. They did another scan last week and said her cord was fine but she was still small.
The midwife is saying that between her 2 appointments which were 2 weeks apart the baby hasn't grown according to her measurements she's taken.
The scan tomorrow is to check babies weight as they didnt record anything on her weight last week just recorded that she was small and her cord seemed fine compared to the week before x

I wouldn't worry about the midwife measurements (easier said than done). My belly always measured small, once measured smaller than it was 2 weeks before! It's due to the fact the baby constantly was changeing positions, and my belly was more flat when she lied across.

I agree not to worry about midwife measurements. They don't even measure my bump anymore as it's so far out from my growth scans!

SouthwestSis · 01/04/2022 11:07

Bump measurements are less accurate than ultrasound scan measurements, and even scan measurements have a margin of error and are not perfect.
If baby is still having growth problems then your maternity team may recommend an earlier delivery, sounds like they are keeping a close eye on you both which is good.

Had the scan she's still small and hasn't grown much in the last 2 weeks but still a little bigger then she was. They said her cord pressure is high again which means the cord may have reduced blood flow. They said that might be whats affecting her growth too.
I've got another scan next week to check on her cord then one in 2 weeks to check her weight. If things are still the same they might induce after the scan in 2 weeks time x
