I've suffered from pelvic pain for about a month (from 24 weeks) I am now 30 weeks and it's so painful even just to walk. I can't sleep. It's making me feel sick. I'm just so fed up! Physio to treat it is self referral in my area and I've been waiting weeks for a space.

Does anyone else have this? Any hints of tips?

I didn't have it with my first pregnancy but that was 9 years ago!

You have my deepest sympathy - I've never experienced pain like it before!

A really good pregnancy pillow and crutches honestly saved my pelvis. I had got to the point where I couldn't drive and DP would have to carry me upstairs and help me get to the toilet. About 10 days after using a decent pillow between my legs at night and the crutches during the day, I could walk again with manageable pain. It was physio who suggested the crutches and they also suggested sitting with an ice pack between my legs which I couldn't bring myself to do (in winter)

Yes.. its horrendous!!! I had it with all my pregnancies. I'm 32 weeks with baby 3 and it's awful. Just trying to move 1 leg off the sofa, turning in bed, just generally walking is so painful.

I had a phone call with the physio last week. They sent me out a support band which is basically a giant stretchy tubigrip that tou wear over your bump it does help as it holds things together. They advised not to walk to far, take small steps. Take stairs 1 step at a time.

It's mostly activities that involve separating your legs. So try and keep them together, dont sit cross legged. Put a carrier bag on the car seat to help swivel out with legs together. A pillow between your knees when your sleeping. She also advised to ice the area after walking. Which helps reduce inflammation.

I hope that helps a little xx

Pregnant with my first and during 2nd trimester I had the most painful pelvic pains to the point I'd cry. Could not walk was off work for a week, lying in bed and MW just telling me to take para and sign off from work (didn't want to do either). Husband sought out an oesteopath. Took paracetamol in order to get to her and when she assessed me she said my pelvic bone had twisted forward, 3 sessions in total and I was back to normal and no pain?! Was amazing!
