First 3 dc all conceived first month trying …

For #4 been trying 9 months - I know that I’ve seen that you should wait a year before asking for investigations but is that if it’s first dc ? Do I relax a bit knowing I’ve managed to get pregnant easily before or do I seek help ?

I’d go straight away tbh - every month counts! We’re entering month 6 TTC #2 and about to head for checks this month, to see what’s what: the sooner we know, the sooner we can make decisions about private treatment and have the best chance.

I think I will because it’s worrying me now and stress won’t help!

My cycles are super regular , I get positive opks each month and loads of ewcm, I have a healthy lifestyle and it’s just not happening which I guess could be age but I’d expect my cycles to have changed of that was an issue ?

I know with children already we aren’t eligible for treatment but we are eligible for investigations I think ?

I think over 35 it’s 6 months you should try for. The 12 months is for under 35.
If I was you I would go now

@LatteandaCake I’m the same – regular as clockwork, lots of EWCM, positive OPKs and no symptoms of perimenopause but I jump every time I see the word in case I catch it by osmosis.

DP and I are calling the GP for tests on Tuesday – in our area we’re eligible for investigations but would need to pursue any treatment plan privately, but may as well get the tests/answers free so we know what we’re up against. It may be as simple as just “age, so keep trying” but I think once I hit 41 in August we’d switch to a treatment plan of some kind to try to move things along.

For my first baby I was 37 and also had investigations that found nothing wrong – though DP had less than ideal sperm – but it did help me stop stressing about my fertility and relax, which was mentally beneficial.

Oh yes you’re right I just looked it up for some reason I had in my mind it was a year 🤦‍♀️ I’ll make an appt

I did have an EMCS for last delivery so worrying a bit if that’s caused a problem with scar tissue or something?

If I'm being honest I have to say I'm a bit uncomfortable using NHS resources for a 4th child - not judging the number - I'd like to have a 4th one day - but this isn't a first child you are TTC - you are 40 - it's clearly going to be age related and since you aren't eligible fertility treatment all the tests will tell you is if you are ovulating or not. It's a question of time. You've been very lucky to conceive first month with the other 3. Lots of women I know who are 40 took a couple of years and several miscarriages. Please don't take up NHS resources for this
