Worried hurt bump at playpark

I’m 15+4 weeks pregnant and today whilst out with my daughter/nephews and nieces at the park. I was pushing my niece on one of those tall spinners (essentially a large pole with a foot base to stand on that spins round) and stumbled, but rather than falling I stepped onto the spinner and just held on for dear life! Can’t have been spinning for more than 10 seconds but when I got off I realised I must have had my bump pressed into the pole quite firmly and while it wasn’t painful I felt a bit uncomfy afterwards…. I haven’t felt any movement all day today from baby (both before/after this happened) although I know this early it’s not consistent.

I’m cursing myself for being so careless :( but looking for some advice on if I’m likely to have done any harm? Or if I’m being very paranoid and this very short period of spinning will have done absolutely nothing at all?
thank you x

I am 99.9% certain it will have done nothing but I think with anything pregnancy related if you want reassurance from a medical professional you should get it and not be worried about wasting their time.

I wouldn't be worried, even when you have a massive bump your baby is so well cushioned- remember you baby is floating in a protective bubble of water, so whilst you felt discomfort, highly unlikely your baby did. If you press the baby uncomfortably it will just swim out of the way.

Think about how firmly the midwife palpates your baby later in the pregnancy, it is uncomfortable but the any is fine. If you had a midwife try to turn the baby late in pregnancy (I did) you will also know it is possible for you to be very uncomfortable but your baby is fine.

The spinning also shouldn't be a problem- you can't have been going that fast.

Agree with the above, it’s hard to say for absolute certainty without being a medical professional and if worried rather than stressing get it from your midwifes mouth Smile but will say at my 20 wk scan they made me do star jumps and whilst laying down try sit up on my elbows and rock my tummy from side to side with my hips to get baby to change position …which the lady kept asking me to do more than I was and reassured me it wouldn’t hurt baby. Having had that experience has made me a bit less anxious and may help you, I hadn’t had this with my first pregnancy but I’m telling friends they all laughed and said they had to do the same … and that was advised by a professional for the scan Smile

Thanks so much everyone - feel very reassured now that baby’s unlikely to have noticed anything :)
