I'm 14 weeks pregnant with my second baby. Tested positive for covid yesterday. I feel dreadful. I haven't felt this poorly for a long while. The midwife has sent a pulse oximeter out and my oxygen levels are fine. I'm just so worried about the baby.

Anyone gone through something similar?

I wasn't unwell with it but I did have covid at 17 weeks, unvaccinated. Baby is now 2 months and is fine

Sorry you've tested positive, I'm 11+3 and have Covid. I tested positive Tuesday and omg never felt so ill! I've turned a corner today though so for me the bad symptoms only lasted two days (I hope, I still have tonight and the nights have been the worst)
What are your symptoms atm ?
Are you vaccinated ?

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 24/03/2022 19:47

Yes I've had all three vaccines.

Main symptoms are extreme fatigue. Muscle aches sinus pain headache and loss of appetite. Shortness of breath sometimes too.

I didn't think it would be as bad as this with having all the vaccines. Clearly I was wrong!

I had Covid last August when I was 11 weeks' pregnant. DD is now 5 weeks' old and absolutely fine. I felt really rough for 3 days and had a cough that lasted weeks but all was fine after that.

Same as me then really, the sinus pain has been the worst for me along with the congestion. I've barely slept because of it !
I also thought the vaccines would offer some protection, apparently not I've been really bad with it.
I've just kept up with the paracetamol and tried to drink enough water. The paracetamol doesn't touch the sinus pain though but does help the body aches

@Whatelsecouldibecalled I had covid at 17 weeks & it was honestly the worst I’d ever felt, I made sure I was constantly drinking, resting as much as possible, taking pain killers every 4 hours on the hour & I was also given the green light by my midwife to take Sudafed due to being severely congested. I’ll admit I was unvaccinated at the time (im now double jabbed) & I did end up being hospitalised due to severe sickness. But baby was absolutely fine, im now 37 weeks & baby is growing perfectly.

I hope you feel better soon. It will pass, rest as much as possible & keep hydrated. You got this!!

I’m so sorry you’re feeling rough! From what I’ve seen, we take the bashing but the little ones are all safe and warm in the womb xx

It's grim isn't it? I had it a few weeks ago at about that and midwife said the baby sounded fine at the check up after. Still getting out of breath easily though but started to feel a bit more awake.
