When should I start carrying my maternity notes wherever I go?

I only take them out of the house when I have a doctor's or hospital appointment, but has the time come for me to start carrying them around with me wherever I go in case I go into labour?

I'm 28 weeks pregnant.

Only took mine to appointments. Shouldn't have bothered as no-one ever read them and I just got asked the same questions again and again and again....

ArrietyClock - ooh that is so infuriating isn't it - I had a massive page of allergy stickers which everyone failed to notice when I was checked in 'ooh so you say you are allergic to X, why isn't it in your notes' IT'S ON THE FIRST FUCKING PAGE IDIOT. ARE YOU REALLY QUALIFIED TO PRACTICE MEDICINE?

But they ask you the questions I think to see whether you are still sane or if you need sending a bit more demented by yet another patronising midwife patting your hand and calling you 'mum'.

I don't think i carried mine around with me either time.

I didn't pack my bag to about wk 37/38 and had dd1 at wk39.

If there are any complications or unusual aspects to your PG then ask your midwife, otherwise you might want to take them with you if you're going any distance (like more than half an hour) from home/whereever you're booked to give birth from about week 36.
My official due date coincided with a weekend party for my morris dancing team which was at the other side of London from me: I asked my midwife about it and she said, go if you feel up to it but take your notes. I actually had my main hospital bag and a second bag (which contained a babybodysuit, a nappy, a change of knickers and skirt, a towel to sit on and the London Ambulance Emergency CHildbirth kit which I had been given by a paramedic mate) to which I added my notes for that weekend - and DS wasn't born till a week later... :-)

Never occured to me to cart them around every day! I might do when I get to 38 weeks or go overdue, but so far, I've only taken them to scheduled appointments, and if we go off for the weekend (but that's because I always think something will happen if I'm away from home) or on holiday. Nobody told me to keep them with me always - but come to think of it, I was asked if I had them with me both times I stopped off at the local midwife unit on the way home from work. But why would I take them to work at 22 weeks??
