Morning sickness vs how much of a vomiter you are when not pregnant.

Hi I always thought I would get bad morning sickness because in everyday life I tend to feel sick quite often. When not pregnant I tend to get nausea / vomit if I have a headache, am in pain, Drink too much alcohol, breathe in too much pollution, have too much milk in my tea! So I assumed my morning sickness would be really bad but I have managed to not feel too bad as long as I keep snacking.

I was wondering what others experiences are. Are you someone who never ever vomits or are you a bit of a sickly person? And how has your morning sickness been for you?

Ha. Absolutely no correlation here, I’m absolutely never sick or sorry usually but while I was pregnant, I was sick multiple times every single day from the day before I tested positive to 32 weeks… then it was two out of three days 😂 I lost so much weight 😅

I’m a sick-y person in general. Feel nauseous probably twice a week due to headaches/other triggers and have to take metoclopramide. Normally always vomit if I drink too much.

Currently nearly 20 weeks pregnant and haven’t vomited once. Had moderate nausea from weeks 7-13 but nothing that stopped me from going to work.

I have to say I was amazed. I fully expected to have HG due to what I’m like in everyday life. It was one of my biggest fears about becoming pregnant. I feel extremely grateful and also so bad for those who suffer so badly and end up in hospital.

I'm not a puker and haven't been sick in either pregnancy.

aspenepsa · 22/03/2022 23:40

I haven't been sick in 10 years (apart from one minor alcohol induced occasion) and had no morning sickness at all.
I'm never actually sick but I do feel nauseous fairly often however.

Not a sicky person but had such bad nausea and vomiting every day for the first 12 weeks of my first pregnancy Envy

DramaAlpaca · 23/03/2022 01:04

I'm not a vomiter normally, but could have won medals in it during my three pregnancies. For twenty flipping weeks each time.

Can relate to the teeth brushing thing.

Yes that's the same as me. Maybe we are so used to it usually then this is nothing to us and we can keep it at bay. The nausea I have felt has been bad at times but nowhere near as extreme as my normal nausea from illness, drinking etc.

I had severe sickness that meant I was hospitalised and on various sickness medications over my pregnancies. I’m not normally someone who feels sick at all but oral contraceptive make me feel sick. So I assume it’s hormone related.
Headabovetheparakeet · 23/03/2022 20:32

I didn't vomit often before pregnancy but had severe nausea from 6 weeks and vomited up to 3 times a day from 12-40 weeks, including when I was in labour. That was 3 years ago and I haven't vomited since.

Sorry, that post was for suze12. Didn't know you can't respond to individual posts.

Thanks, so I suppose there's just a range of experiences. I had a theory that is sickers actually fared better because we were used to it or something but not necessarily. I am fully expecting to vomit in labour as pain makes me do that. Next up I'm about to look up does bad period pain=more or less painful labour.

Rarely ever nauseous or vomit, no sea sickness, travel sickness. Had severe HG from 5 weeks until term, with multiple hospitalisations and ended up losing my job over it.

hunder · 23/03/2022 20:45

I reckon that outside of pregnancy and alcohol overconsumption, I have vomited about 5 times in my life, so approximately once a decade. During my second pregnancy I was sick from 5-22 weeks and against n for the last few weeks!
