I normally go by the temperature of the room. There are charts online showing what clothing is appropriate for sleeping based on how warm it is :) From what I remember, my son was either in long sleeved sleep suits (plus or minus a vest), just the vest and/or an appropriate tog sleeping bag. There were a few occasions where he just slept in a nappy though as it was so hot.

Yes we used them all year round, adding a vest if colder. The only time only a vest was worn was the hotter days in the summer but being the UK that isn't the whole summer!

Sometimes yes, I liked to give my DD ones with more coverage, but lighter fabric. There were some very nice ones someone gave me made of something called Modal which was light to touch/kept out heat, but kept her covered up.

In the height of summer we tended to use a long sleeve vest + thin sleeping bag, so bare legs in the sleeping bag and only one layer overall. My DS was too warm in vest+babygro from quite early on, though, and still runs very warm now, kicks his duvet down most of the time.

Yes for the night or evenings

My LO was 6 months last summer and ai used short sleeve suits maybe 14 times through the whole summer, with no vest on underneath. It was just on the hottest of days as we had some beautiful weather where we were last year. It probably would have made more sense to just use a vest as other posters have but being a FTM I didn't think of that.

Well in uk who knows if its going to be warm or not... 😆 get couple of them for the night just in case, but generally if its warm baby doesnt need them ..or get a sleep bag thing

I did with my daughter last year. Except at one point our south facing bedroom got to 27 degrees and I think I just put her in a long sleeved vest and then a cellular blanket tucked under her arms
