Will I be induced? Reduced movements

Reposting in pregnancy section!

Hi, I'm 36.5 weeks pregnant and have had quite a few episodes of reduced fetal movement in my 3rd trimester. My hospital have been fab and I've had growth scans almost every 2 weeks and the odd Doppler scan in between. All of the scans have showed a healthy baby with no problem, so in turn they can't find a reason for the reduced movements. She does liven up after a day of not moving but it really freaks me out!

I've had about 5+ episodes and last week the midwife at the FMAU requested another growth scan and a consultant appointment at 38.5 weeks. My question is, can I request induction to take place after this appointment? If so when would they induce me from? I'm thinking it'd be 39 weeks but I just want to know if they'd make me go to 40. Would they even take me seriously? What do I even say?!

I just feel like I'm so close to the finish line and these episodes of RFM are really setting off my anxiety, I can't shake the feeling something is wrong and she needs to be out as soon as poss. I'm probably over exaggerating but surely there must be some reason for all these episodes...

I'd love to hear any experiences you may all have! Thank you!!

I had this and it kept happening and they found no reason as they scanned me but it kept happening and he would go quiet for days at a time and they induced me at 37+6 and he was born the next day exactly 38 weeks and we went home the same day. It was awful when he went to quiet and I just had a feeling that one time he wouldn’t get bouncy again and it was so scary

Yes I think they would induce you early. I would express your concerns to the consultant and actually tell him/her that you want to be induced.

Thanks for sharing your experience @Nikki037297 it's so so scary isn't it! It freaks me out so much- I'm just hoping she gets here sooner rather than later! Can I ask when you had your baby? Things seem to change all the time and many things I've read suggest 39 weeks for induction, however if I get another episode I know I'll just want them to do something sooner rather than later!!

@Moonshine160 I really hope so, I'll be sure to highlight all my concerns to the consultant and I just hope she takes me seriously!

Be aware there are risks and complications associated with induction.
Not saying that may not be the right course of action regardless but you need to consider these and weigh them up against your anxiety and the advice you get from the hospital with regards to the movements.
Hope you are able to get outside and enjoy the sunshine and keep well

@SouthwestSis definitely! I don't even know if induction is the best option for me yet, and I'm not too sure in the risks etc, so I will be sure to read up on them! I am going to suggest more monitoring first I think and hopefully that might put my mind at ease a bit, I'll see what they suggest! Thank you 😊
