Bleeding at 6 weeks

Hi everyone,

This is my first time posting and my first pregnancy.

All was going well I was starting to get symptoms etc but yesterday on exactly the 6 week mark I started to bleed.

I called EPU and they told me to pop a pad on and monitor it which I’ve done. There’s not much going on to pads it’s mostly when I wipe or in the bowl when I pee sorry for the TMI.

I have some cramping along with this and when I called again today I was advised to wait until I was 6 weeks and 5 as they won’t do a scan before this.

My husband and I are understandably worried has anyone been through the same thing?

How did things work out for you?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I started having brown spotting at 6+2. The EPU got me in for a scan at 7 weeks. They couldn’t find any sinister reason for the bleeding but I was measuring much smaller than I expected. I have to wait another two weeks for another scan to see if I’ve had a missed miscarriage.

Conversely, there are plenty of stories on here of people bleeding early on who have good outcomes! Fingers crossed you’re one of those :)

Hiya, I bled at 6 weeks, just when I wiped for about a week or two on and off and everything was absolutely fine and I now have a healthy 6 month old! Hope all is well for you!! x

Fantasea · 18/03/2022 16:43

I had a lot of brown discharge for a few days at 6 weeks and then again at 10 weeks. For me, everything was fine too.

I'd suggest a private scan to put your mind at ease! It could be a number of things, but you're best just calling your local clinic for a last minute appointment x

@Readytopop2022x I was going to book one but I was worried it was too early and I wouldn’t see anything…
