Pain in right bum/leg

I'm 36 and a half weeks pregnant, can anyone help or any advice?

Everytime I sit down or lie down, weather it's for 10 minutes or to go to bed the minute I stand up I can't walk, it's like my leg is numb, I get shooting pains down my right bum cheek and back, and shooting down my leg. I explained to my midwife at 32 week appointment and she said not long left now 😳 I'm in agony, I can't even sit on the floor and play with my son anymore without being in tears when I stand up. Once I get up and try to walk im in pain for about 5 minutes, hobbling around and then it's gone again? Is this just a nerve?

That sounds like sciatica, I've always suffered from it, not fun when it kicks off. Not sure on exercises for it when pregnant though, but sleeping with a pillow between the knees at night helps and sitting well supported during the day. Might be worth seeing a physio if you can, hope it eases off for you soon

Yep, sciatica.

Sciatica and it's awful. The physio gave me some stretches that helped in pregnancy

Thank you all, got another appointment with midwife tomorrow so I'll mention it to her again. I've never felt pain like it😩

If it’s sciatica then it’s likely caused by the baby lying against a nerve and it will stop as soon as the baby is born. I had it whilst pregnant with DC2, and it felt like a fork being stabbed into my thigh. You have my sympathy!

You have made me feel so much better, Atleast the end is in sight, not sure how much longer I can cope with the pain

For me, it stopped as soon as DC2 was born (although I still had the fork stabbing during labour).

But definitely talk to your midwife to see if she can confirm / give advice.
