Bedside Crib - Advice Needed

Hi,

So I still have quite a while to go but started putting together a little list of things we will need/want to get.
For bedside crib we’re very much undecided between the Tutti Bambini Cozee & the Snuzpod4.

I really like how compact the Tutti folds - looks fab for storage (not planning much in terms of overnight travel in the first six months, but the portability seems like a great feature to have!).

I really like the Snuzpod too, and really quite like that the bassinet bit is removable so could be carried in the other room during the day, which will eliminate the need to also get a Moses basket.

Design-wise I fancy both and find then equally cute. Both have adjustable height, adjustable incline, and both have the lowering side so baby is level with me.

Price range is also quite similar.

Has anyone used either and your experience? Would you recommend? Also how would you rate the removable bassinet feature vs the compact / foldability?

We had one similar to the Tutti and honestly it’s been amazing - being able to take it places was so useful. Even if you’re not planning on going places, having that option is so great. Travel cots are so low to the ground that if you have a baby like mine (that doesn’t sleep that well) it’s killer for your back picking them up and down all the time.

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 15/03/2022 21:00

Is your pram carry cot compatible with overnight sleeping?

Ours was so used that in the day downstairs. We had a chicco next to me upstairs. The intention was to use the pram carrycot for overnight when visiting family initially too but covid knackered that plan as our DS was born April 2020

I agonised over it, got the Tutti. It was nice but DD never slept in it! She co-slept and contact napped only until 9 months old. So it was a complete waste of money as it turned out, it’s only function was as a bed guard.

It really doesn’t matter which you get. Honestly. They are both good and what works for your baby is complete luck!

I loved my tutti bambini next to me! It folded so easily and nicely, fit in the boot flat with the pushchair and bags when we went away for the weekend. It folded and fit in the bag with a sheet and blanket so was all kept together. Honestly one of the best purchaces i made with my first, i still have it now, currently taking up very little space on top of my wadrobe, saved it for future childen and currently pregnant and cant wait for the convenience of using it again!

Catfox1 · 15/03/2022 21:12

In reality the Snuzpod bassinet is too heavy to move from room to room although can be done but especially up/down stairs. Saying that I love ours though! It just stays in our bedroom.

BigskyMontana · 15/03/2022 21:18

I loved my Tutti Bambini and was so easy to fold down and transport when going to stay with friends and family x

ChloeHel · 15/03/2022 21:28

I got the snuzpod, DD hated it so Moses basket it was haha.

Danani · 15/03/2022 21:31

Thanks ladies, as always - super helpful advice!!
To answer a couple of questions: no, our pram carrycot is not suitable for overnight sleeping . And we live in an apartment (no stairs) so even if the Snuzpod bassinet is heavy…we’re talking only a fee steps from bedroom to living room.

I’ll keep mulling this over, we still have months to decide!
If you have any other suggestions or points for consideration please send them my way! x

@Danani

Hey, I looked at the tutti but then decided to go with the chicco next to me magic - baby isn't due until early June but I have put it up in my babies room and I love it already.
It has a rocking setting and is free standing and has 11 different height settings. Also comes with a travel bag 😊 the mattress it came with is also very good... I just bought fitted sheets from Amazon that was compatible as otherwise the branded chicco ones were quite expensive!
Definitely one of my favourite purchases so far.

Nala97 · 16/03/2022 14:10

Oh and it's also on wheels! So if you are living on 1 floor will make life easier to wheel it around if needed 😊

Danani · 17/03/2022 09:06

@Nala97 thanks so much! That's great insight!

I've seen the Chicco but the only thing that puts me off slightly is the legs...it seems they are best to slide under the bed (or am I getting this wrong?) and our bed has no gap between frame and floor, it is one sturdy thing on the floor.

@Danani

The legs on one side do go in 😊 I also don't have a gap under my bed so will be using it as a freestanding crib

Moonshine160 · 17/03/2022 09:30

We’ve got the Tutti Bambini. Loved it. We saved it to use for DC2, I’m just going to get a new mattress for it. DS slept in it till he was around 7 months old and we took it on overnight stays with us twice. So easy to fold down and also visually looks really nice whereas some others don’t!

Girlmumdogmumboymum · 17/03/2022 09:58

I was considering both of these, but went for the mamas and papas lua. It just looks so much nicer than the other 2. The snuzpod looks almost medical.

Please have a look at the Lua in real life before you make your decision- I'm not saying it'll sway you either way, but I'd have kicked myself if I'd have bought the snuzpod and seen the lua afterwards

Danani · 17/03/2022 10:24

Thanks for clarifying @Nala97!

Thanks @Moonshine160! I think the Tutti Bambini is my fav so far...Only thing is that the bassinet doesn't detach / you can't take it in the other room right? You have to move the whole thing? But I LOVE how compact it folds and how easy, and it looks really lovely!

@Girlmumdogmumboymum thank you! Just checked it out and it looks so cute! Very similar vibe to the Tutti Bambini! Will make sure to check it out in person when I go to one of the shops next!

I’ve got the snuzpod and I’m a fan. It rocks if not attached to the bed which is handy for resettling baby when you’ve put them down.

I’ve used as a bassinet often too. Heavier than a Moses basket, but also bigger and sturdier

showmethegin · 17/03/2022 11:37

We were torn between these two but went snuzpod as it is narrower and our bedroom is tight on space. Still pregnant so haven't used it yet

Danani · 17/03/2022 12:20

@RockAndRollerskate that's what I like about it too, and tbh I find the design very scandy and cute!
I saw the Tutti Bambini has rocking leg add-on too, which would make it quite comparable to the Snuzpod! I guess my only concern with the Snuzpod is when we're done using it...how compact is it to put it away somewhere...I imagine it does take quite a bit more space. Is this the case?

RockAndRollerskate · 17/03/2022 22:41

@Danani, we dismantled the base between children then stored all the bits inside the bassinet and bagged it up in a cupboard for baby number 2. It was admittedly quite bulky to store
