10 weeks boobs not as firm

As the title says. I'm 10 weeks, very anxious due to previous loss and years of fertility treatment.
I've been feeling my boobs daily since basically 6 weeks or so and they've been a lot more firm and swollen, not massively so but as an A cup I've noticed a difference !
They've not been tender at all but they wasn't with my first child 8 years ago.
Well I'm sure they last couple of days they feel abit smaller ? Still abit more swollen but maybe not as firm... not sure how to explain it other than they feel abit smaller than they have done !
I know tenderness can fluctuate but can breast size too?
My nausea has worn off the last week or so too, just freaking out and trying to make it to the end of the month !!

I would like to know this too

LittleGwyneth · 14/03/2022 19:04

I'm pretty sure I had this wobble - honestly it's a really hard time, waiting for that 12 week mark. Your hormone levels are going to be changing (I'm not a doctor so the extent to which I can say any of this with any authority is very limited!) but I wouldn't use your boobs diagnostically.

If you are struggling I would get an easy scan, I found knowing at 10 weeks that she had a heartbeat etc was very reassuring.

orangehour · 14/03/2022 19:09

YES all of these symptoms can fluctuate in a healthy pregnancy and you are right in the sweet spot for it just now! I was constantly checking my boobs from 6 weeks and when I had a good day would freak out, but the tenderness did subside gradually only to start up for real after 12 weeks. I’m 16 weeks now and they’re like boulders :( My nausea started to come and go too as the placenta started to take over gradually around 9 weeks. Better, calmer days are coming xx

seekingsomereassurance · 15/03/2022 07:01

I don't want to get another early scan as I'll be trapped in that reassurance thing, be okay for a few days then start worrying about something else.
They're defiantly still swollen just doesn't seem as noticeable, like they're not as firm basically. Hard to explain what I mean.
Just wanted to know if it's normal as you google and it's all about breast tenderness coming and going but nothing about size/firmness

I had this with both my pregnancies. My first one, they were like rocks and so so so itchy! I had to have a pack of baby wipes in the fridge to lay on my boobs just to sooth them. I was about 13 weeks and all the symptoms disappeared completely. But it is very normal for any symptom to come and go. It can be scary but try not to dwell on every little thing, you deserve to enjoy it Thanks

linerforlife · 15/03/2022 07:17

Isn't this when the placenta has started to take over nourishing the baby and therefore you feel better/symptoms start to wane? I think you're bang on the money time wise for things to be easing off as your baby settles in Smile it's so hard not to worry OP but hang on in there!

Lubeyboobyalt · 15/03/2022 07:19

I wouldn't worry - 10 weeks is when my pregnancy nausea stopped, boobs were fine, didn't really feel pregnant. It worried me too but I needed a scan the next day for other reasons (this was 25 years ago and my home preg test was positive but my doctors one had come back negative so they sent me for a scan and it took 4 weeks to come through)

Anyway I went to that scan very anxious but there was baby, the picture of health, right size, everything was fine

I think between about 10 to 14 weeks is when symptoms settle down for most (not all obviously especially if you have hg sickness)

EarringsandLipstick · 15/03/2022 08:39

OP, I think this can be entirely normal, and no cause to worry.

But it can be an indication of miscarriage too. I don't say this to worry you but just to say it can be an indicator.

I had a MMC on my first pregnancy. I had no other symptoms than a reduction in nausea and my boobs went back to near-normal, having been significantly bigger & more tender.

As I'd no bleeding etc my GP said not to worry. Several weeks later, sadly I sound out at a scan that it was a missed miscarriage, when I was nearly 14 weeks.

I think I'd get a scan for reassurance.

Best of luck 💐

I'm sorry OP Sad

As you'll see on this thread, many others have had positive outcomes with those symptoms (or lack of them).

Sadly, with pregnancy, there's no way to know. I really would suggest you get a scan, if you are concerned and feeling anxious. At least then you will know for sure.

seekingsomereassurance · 15/03/2022 09:42

@EarringsandLipstick I'm just scared of getting a scan now because I'm worried my dates will be off compared to last time. I was measuring 1 day behind which didn't worry me at all as it's only a day but I've got it in my head I might be measuring further behind now. I know it's irrational and it's definitely the anxiety talking but I can't help it. Drives me insane

Oh OP, I hear you. It's all so normal to have different types of worries & anxieties when pregnant.

At 10 weeks, a difference in days won't matter. And you'll have reassurance that all is well, hopefully.

Gigi30 · 15/03/2022 10:02

I'm in the same boat. Apart from being a bit more tired, I feel completely normal and not pregnant at all. I've felt normal since finding out and it worries me so much. I'm 12 weeks today and I have my scan on Friday which I'm petrified for.

I last had a scan at 8 weeks and saw a lovely heartbeat but I'm so so nervous for Friday. Especially now reading the above 🙈 I know we can't change the outcome and if it happens then unfortunately there's nothing we can do about it :(

Sending you lots of love ! It's a horrible feeling isn't it. Not long until your scan ❤️

I think I'm going to hold off with the scan, I need to think what's going to make my mental health worse, and the scenario I said would send me spiralling so I don't think it's worth it for me.

I've just had a good look at my boobs and they're definitely abit bigger and veinier than my pre pregnancy boobs so I think I'm just looking for something to worry about !!

You don't have any cause to worry most likely if you've been feeling like this all along, and have seen a heartbeat. While nothing is guaranteed, it sounds very positive.

In OP's case, her symptoms have changed. It may be fine & in most cases is. Sometimes it may indicate a MC sadly, abs therefore our would be good for her to get reassurance.

EarringsandLipstick · 15/03/2022 11:09

@seekingsomereassurance

The anxiety is tough. 😢

Best of luck - I'm sure all will be fine.

It would be worth having a chat to GP or MW about your anxiety. So much possibility for worry with babies & children. 💐

Gigi30 · 15/03/2022 14:05

Yes not long but again I'll be fine for a week and be back to worrying, I don't think it ever ends.

I didn't find out with my daughter until I was 11 weeks along so I didn't have this awful wait waiting for the 12 weeks scan and that was 7 years ago so I've forgotten if I had any symptoms at all.

Yes I think just wait it out if it will just make it worsae. The only reason I had one at 8 weeks is because I have pcos and not had a period since October. They wanted to check how far I was. I hope you start to feel a bit better soon. 💕

Gigi30 · 15/03/2022 14:08

I did have sore boobs to start with which made me test but that disappeared at around week 6. I had nausea from 4-6 weeks but that disappeared. Now I'm just tired all the time. I think it's such a long wait to the 12 weeks scan that we all worry and look for things to worry about. Like you say fingers crossed everything will be OK :)

Hmum0fthree · 15/03/2022 14:12

Yes its normal as the placenta starts to take over around 10 weeks so your hormones are different also the reason your symptoms may be changing / not as strong
