Burning/numbness in hip - one side only?!

Hi, I have a burning pain that comes and goes on my left hip only (nothing on right side). I’ve made an appointment with my GP to check it out but in the meantime wondering if anyone else has experienced similar?

I’m concerned because I have a large mole on my left hip, right where the burning pain/numbness is (it comes and goes). I’m worried it’s something to do with the mole rather than pregnancy related, as it’s so specific to that area.

Hello! I have something that sounds a bit similar. It started around 8 weeks (I'm now 16+4), my left hip goes numb (never the right one) and I get this odd sensation, I wouldn't call it burning but it almost feels cold and it's quite uncomfortable. I have no moles in the area. It mostly happens when I lie on my right hand side and the left hip is elevated, it's usually fine when I'm sitting or standing. It feels very weird! I'm under the consultant and I mentioned it to her and she brushed it off so I've been trying to ignore it since then.

Not sure if this is helpful as it doesn't sound exactly the same as what you have, but this is the closest I've seen to someone describing what I've been experiencing.

It sounds like it might be meralgia parasthetica:

Sometimes the growing uterus can compress one of the nerves in the pelvis, causing this pain / tingling.

I get this sometimes in the evening and it feels like nettle stings! Always in a weirdly specific place at the top of my left thigh. Mentioned it to my midwife and she said I could self-refer to physiotherapy, but pregnancy yoga seems to be keeping it in check for now.
