Brain/Head Problems

Hi, I'm just making this post to see if anyone has been in the same position or knows what they're talking about as we have no clue.

I'm 22 weeks with lovely twin girls. Twin 1 is growing great, no problems there.
Twin 2, her head measured under 3rd centile on anomaly scan and I had to be rescanned 3 times to check it wasn't a position problem.

I have since had an MRI at the FMU and I have another in 4 weeks as they believe they've found something.
On the report, it says "prominent neuronal migration pattern" seen and that they believe they've found a "structural anomaly".

Google tends to just give me medical articles that I don't understand a word of and I have no idea what this could mean for our little one.

I'm sorry I have no advice for you but I'm giving this a bump and hopefully someone will see it that can be of some help ❤️

I have some experience with a similar situation, I’ll send you a private message if you don’t mind.

There's an information leaflet from Great Ormond Street hospital here:
www.gosh.nhs.uk/conditions-and-treatments/conditions-we-treat/neuronal-migration-disorder/

I think a neuronal migration disorder means that there are differences in parts of the brain structure and how it is developing. Those can be very minor, but sadly they can also cause developmental difficulties for the baby.

Sorry that's not more positive news, but I didn't want to leave you hanging. It's good that this has been picked up now, so that if your little one does need extra help it's already in place as soon as she's born.
