Moved heavy coffee table

I'm 8 weeks and just without even thinking pushed our heavy coffee table back to where it was before dp moved it. Didn't even think before doing it. I pushed it at first but then sat on the sofa and moved it with my legs.
Have I caused any damage by doing this ?? Freaking out now

No you haven’t. Heavy lifting is unlikely to harm the baby but later on could hurt you.

Women's bodies are amazing things. We can do so much whilst still making a new human being. You are not delicate, you are strong.

Feel so silly as didn't even think just did it and it is a stupidly heavy table. I googled and one of the first things to come up was about mc so obviously started worrying then !

You'll be fine OP. Just a word of advice though, don't Google.

isitdangerous · 01/03/2022 06:59

I think it's more the fact I pushed it, no way would I've been able to lift a table that size lol. I'm worrying I've strained my uterus or something

I've spent my entire pregnancy lifting my 3 and a half year old, you'll be fine op! I'm ready to pop now!

I’m 6 weeks and have been doing moderate exercise since finding out I’m pregnant. I want to be fit and strong for a healthy pregnancy and birth. I’m still lifting weights, although of course not as heavy as pre pregnancy. Pushing a coffee table is v unlikely to cause you or your baby any harm.

Firsttimetrier · 01/03/2022 08:04

@isitdangerous there are women who have children who they still pick up and carry, so no, you wouldn’t have done any damage.

If you feel super anxious, reach out to your midwife as they can offer you support. Also, stop googling things as it will make your pregnancy incredibly long.

moita · 01/03/2022 08:07

You'll be fine. I couldn't not pick up my heavy child when I was pregnant

isitdangerous · 01/03/2022 08:14

I know I'm being irrational. I lost my last pregnancy and after years of infertility it's just made me super anxious. I had a scan a couple of days ago which I was terrified for. I guess my brain is now finding something else to worry about!
I'm just more annoyed that I didn't just leave it for my dp to move, just a moment of completely forgetting. It's not like it was a small coffee table it's massive and really very heavy. I might call midwife later just to hear it from a professional

If you are worried, call your midwife for reassurance. The stress of worrying isn’t doing you any good but honestly it will be fine and next time you can ask for some help to move heavy things. I did a huge clear out of heavy books at work for a couple of hours I was shattered and I was (unknowingly) early on in pregnancy. I am now sat feeding my 10 day old baby. Try not to worry and try not to google!
