Low Lying Placenta and Cramping

Hey guys, I’m 31 weeks pregnant and was told I had a low lying placenta at my 20 weeks NHS scan. I had a private scan last week where they told me that my placenta still looked very low. I have a follow up NHS scan next week to determine if it has moved up, but since my last scan was only a week ago I’m fairly certain it won’t have!
I’ve been experiencing period like cramping out of nowhere the last few days, my tummy feels rock hard and baby’s movements feel really strange, different to normal. I don’t know if this is something I should be worried about or if it could be related to the low lying placenta?
I don’t want to bother my PAU again, I’ve already been in twice this pregnancy and feel like a massive hindrance on them! Just wondered if anyone had had anything similar…
Thanks x

I don't have any experience but you definitely need to phone the Pau. You're not a hindrance - you are someone who needs advice on your pregnancy symptoms. Hopefully it's nothing but low lying placentas can cause complications.

I had a low lying placenta. I had a bit of moderate pain from time to time and always went into get checked and it was always ok. I had a straight forward planned c section and all was ok.

Do not feel bad about bothering the PAU. They are there to support this pregnancy and you need support. Get the help you need. Even if, as is the most likely outcome, everything is fine, it is for clinicians to make that call. I have no doubt they are busy, but that doesn’t mean you should be short changed. All the best.
