Hi all!

After dodging covid for the entirity if the pandemic I feel like the new Gov changes announced today mean it is just a matter of time before I get it.

I am in the 3rd trimester now at 28 weeks and have had my 3 jabs. I just want to see if anyone has had covid in the 3rd trimester when vaccinated and how it was for you?

Obviously nervous going into a non-restricted World from a purely personal reason of being pregnant!!!

X

I had Covid when I was 30 weeks (had two jabs). I understand your worry, I was extremely stressed though the whole time. However, only had mild symptoms, the cold that I had a month before was much worst. Right now I'm cuddling my 5 weeks old healthy baby girl on my chest.🙂

I had it at 27 weeks ... 2 jabs. Was like a bad cold for me - although definitely more breathless when moving / elevated heart rate if doing too much. Took 14 days to get a negative. All ok now at 32 weeks xx

I had it at 37+5. Came out of isolation the day before I had DS!

Had a poorly tummy for a couple of days and lost my smell and weird taste in my mouth. Other than that I was absolutely fine :)

I had it at 28 weeks over Xmas when it was rife. I was double jabbed at the time (due my booster but has to reschedule due to catching it!). It hit me pretty hard, spent a good 6 days in bed. Worse than a "bad cold" for me. Developed a secondary bacterial chest infection so needed antibiotics but other than feeling really really crap I was ok - zero issues with baby and my vital parameters all remained well.

It doesn't appear to be doing the rounds quite as much as it was a month or two ago so hopefully you won't catch it at all, but if you do then chances are you'll be fine. When I was assessed at the covid hub the nurse and doctor were so happy to hear I'd been vaccinated as vast vast majority of those that transferred into hospital from them were unvaccinated.

Thank you everyone - logically I know that I should be fine but it's just a worry isn't it?
Glad to hear you are all well and good babies are well too 💞

Thanks again for replying!

I just had it, at 29 weeks. I’ve had the two “original” jabs, no booster. I was absolutely fine. I had sinus pain the first two days, which sucked because I couldn’t take anything for it, then day 3 I was snotty and day 4 I was normal. I did a 7 mile walk in the woods with my dogs on day 5 because I needed to get out of the house (I have antenatal depression and being cooped up was making it 100 times worse) and as soon as I tested negative I ran a 5k in the same time I was managing before I caught it. Baby seems absolutely fine and I am pleased she got some antibodies out of it.

I also had “original” covid before vaccines. That felt like flu and affected my fitness for a couple of weeks after - I’ve definitely fared much better this time! Get well soon x

Haha - put get well soon and you don’t have it! I take that back and replace it with a “hope you don’t get it” Smile

I had it a couple of weeks ago at 30 weeks pregnant. I've had all 3 jabs. I didn't have bad symptoms, I've definitely had worse colds, but I did feel very tired and breathless. I'm still short of breath now 2 weeks on.

Not quite 3rd trimester but I just had it at 26 weeks and was totally fine.
The hospital sent me an oximeter and told me to measure my pulse and oxygen a few times a day, and arranged for a Dr to call me on the first day. Because it was so mild they said they didn’t need to follow up but had it been worse they’d have called back daily.
The hospital does this for every pregnant woman, and their guidance is to ring triage if you test positive and they’ll sort it out. If you’re worried, just check what your hospital has in place as it might give you some peace of mind.

Thanks for this that's reassuring. I have a monitor at home so could also track that no problem. I have a midwife appointment this week so can ask a but more then too Thanks again Smile
