Hi I was looking for some advice ?I’m 19 weeks pregnant tomorrow and from last Sunday to Wednesday I had diarrhoea and achy arms I called the doctor who assured me that it was normal and should clear up on it’s own by day 5 which it did. Then yesterday morning when I got up and looked in the mirror I realised my right cheek was red and burning like a big blotch it then disappeared and I didn’t think much of it but then later in the day it came back. I googled it and it came up slap cheek, I called nhs 24 who said I would receive a call back but then they called me saying they where full to capacity to go to a&e if I was really concerned and couldn’t wait but this was at 11 o’clock at night and when u called a&e they said I would be waiting 6 hours So by this timed it had completely gone again so I decided to just wait to this morning and see how it was as I was exhausted. This morning woke up and was fine until 3 in the afternoon it came back again. I have called out of hours and awaiting a call back again but I was just wondering if there is anyone out there a similar thing has happened to that’s could maybe give me some reassurance. This is my second pregnancy after my last pregnancy ended in a partial molar and I was concerned after reading how dangerous this could be to baby’s especially at my stage of pregnancy

I had this happen and I almost
Lost my baby because of it.
Slapped cheek is extremely dangerous time the baby especially if caught between 11-20
Weeks. I was 13 weeks.
My baby had fetal anemia by 16 weeks I almost lost him.

Please please please get an emergency app with your gp/midwife tomorrow tell
Tjem you need a blood test immediately to check if you are immune to slapped cheek and if not to check if you have the virus. If you do you will be sent straight to fetal medicine for a detailed scan. I’m not trying to scare you. But I went through it and it was very scary they said my baby needed an in utero blood transfusion his blood was flowing far too fast because he had anemia caused by the virus. I’m lucky I went when I did for the blood test, the dr I seen didn’t understand much but it says on the nhs website which I told him about and he checked and realised how serious this was. I got my blood took that day and was sat in fetal medicine the next morning when my blood results came in, it all happened so quick. Please get checked and take care of your self

I’ve been on the phone to 2 doctors one last night with out of hours and one this morning with my own gp and both are telling me it doesn’t sound like slap cheek as I don’t have any more symptoms like a rash or cold like symptoms and the blotch on my cheek is coming and going and I haven’t been in contact with a confirmed case I’m not sure what else to do I’ve asked my midwife to give me a call ti ask her advice aswell

I am worried sick as I have already lost a baby in the last year and have been anxious this pregnancy anyway he said he doesn’t think any further action is needed just now like the blood test
