35 weeks here and getting uncomfortable first dd

Before you went into labour did you have any indication that your baby was coming or did your water just break ?

My baby is head down
Have a sharp pain on my left hand side
Can't eat as I get full so easy my stomach is so crushed keep being sick in my mouth

Had a few pains down my side and around my bump

Baby is moving and kicking like mad
String pressure on my pelvis urge to pee
Feel like I'm about to bust

Is this just the norm what signs should I look out fo

That’s the norm for thurs trimester, unfortunately. I never went into labour naturally and had that ‘fed up-please make this all end - can’t take it anymore’ feeling for two months as DC was 2.5weeks overdue.

Wheresthisgoing · 18/02/2022 15:42

Third*

ReadtheFT · 18/02/2022 16:28

Thats the norm, waters didnt even break till the pushing stage either. Only a few weeks left!

Moody123 · 18/02/2022 17:50

That's normal :-( I felt very tired (like the start of a cold coming on) the day before and slept most of the day ... however that was my only 'sign'
Woke up at 2am with contractions , LO born at 10:10 am and the waters exploded on his way out , causing the midwife to change her outfit 😮‍💨

mummyh2016 · 18/02/2022 22:14

I had what I thought was constipation start at 38 weeks, turned out baby was that low he was pushing on my bowels which was making me think I needed the toilet constantly. He was born 36 hours after these pressure pains started.

pastabest · 18/02/2022 22:24

my waters didn't break until about 15- 20 mins before they were born each time. Its not like on TV.

My first sign both times was the bloody show. A bit of mucusy blood in my knickers followed by the first contractions about 8 - 10 hours later. Contractions then continued for about 8 - 10 hours growing in intensity until the pushing stage (where everything went very calm). Then babies.

There was no indication at all either time that things were about to kick off until it actually did with the bloody show. I felt completely normal right up until the first contractions.

I was 35 weeks and it felt like he had just 'dropped' .
It felt like I could feel him down low and had to sit in funny positions just to be comfortable.
Then a few days later I got what felt like period pains, figured it was Braxton Hicks at 36 weeks but it wasn't subsiding.
DS was born 36+1

With DC1 the sickness stopped and I actually felt ok (I'd had terrible sickness in the first abs third trimesters). Went into Labour in the early hours on the following morning.

With DC2 I cried a lot for a day and went into labour that night.

My waters did t break naturally with either so I always say not to wait until your waters break before you go in Smile

redandwhite1 · 19/02/2022 11:08

I've had a bloody show for a week now and still nothing! I'm 38 weeks today, other than that I've not got any other symptoms (other than being knackered!!)

MrsTophamHat · 19/02/2022 11:12

No 'signs'. It just kind of became apparent. I'd been having braxton hicks on and off and the only difference was that they didn't stop and over a few hours grew a lot stronger.

I had a very small leak of waters with my eldest.

ShowOfHands · 19/02/2022 11:14

Sounds completely normal.

I had zero signs. Both of my labours started with waters breaking but this is not the norm. Mine breaking first was actually a sign of something not being quite right. First time round, I was eating dinner and second time round, I was asleep.

Dontforgetyourbrolly · 19/02/2022 11:15

For me it was slight bowel cramps on and off all day , not that painful, in fact I just thought it was the laxatives taking effect as I was constipated !
After a couple of hours of this my waters broke and labour was just an overwhelming urge to poo haha

Juanbablo · 19/02/2022 12:53

With my first I was really tearful and then during the night my waters went and contractions started.

Second I was late and had a sweep. Waters broke in the bath and contractions followed swiftly.

Third I felt really body sore and so tired. Contractions started during the night.

ChloeHel · 19/02/2022 19:40

No symptoms really, just had minor contractions every 20-30 minutes, then waters went.

Cappuccino17 · 20/02/2022 04:39

I lost my mucus plug ( bloody show) and had braxton hicks that intensified into contractions gave birth a day and a half later.

Cappuccino17 · 20/02/2022 04:40

Just to mention my waters never broke.

Madmaxxy · 23/02/2022 22:28

No signs. One night I just started having contractions and thought 'this is it' but they never got closer than one in ten and then went away in the day. After 4 nights of this i went in for a sweep (bloody exhausted from no sleep) and was at 4cm already. Turns out that I had been in labour for four nights which I guess should have been a sign in itself Grin

DramaAlpaca · 23/02/2022 22:30

No signs here either with my first. I just woke up during the night at 39+1 with a mild, but very definite contraction and he was born 21 hours later.

GrendelsGrandma · 23/02/2022 22:30

Cramps that felt like period pain that ramped up over a few hours.

Cocomelonearworm · 23/02/2022 22:40

My waters broke in a truly biblical way when I got up from the sofa. No other signs that day.

madeleine85 · 25/02/2022 06:34

I was very early, but first sign was the mucus plug came out. I was so clueless, I wiped after peeing and there was something like a small looking jellyfish on the TP. I had a routine checkup booked anyway the next day, went in and turned out I was beginning to have contractions. I had a few bouts of labour after that which were medicinally delayed, but the signs at the start of final one was an upset stomach for a morning, feeling like a cold was coming (just crappy), increased CM which became light pink tinged then waters breaking (all this was within 10 hours ish) at which point contractions really started. Good luck OP!

BobbleWobble1 · 25/02/2022 08:07

Lost mucus plug both times and contractions started almost straight away. No other signs at all. Had very well pregnancies both times. Had waters broken for me with DS1. Waters broke just before pushing with DS2.

lucylucyapplejuicy · 25/02/2022 08:30

Nothing at all then the night before my due date a couple niggly pains, then bloody show, waters broke and DS was
Born just in his due date after about 1 hour if labour. Good luck x

solbunny · 25/02/2022 09:15

Bloody show began on the Saturday. Mild contraction-like pain began on the Sunday night. Monday night waters broke, early hours of Tuesday morning proper contractions started. Baby born Tuesday evening!
