Hi all, anyone due early March? This is my first baby had a pretty straight forward pregnancy but starting to get nervous about labour. I've been having growth scans as he is measuring big, also have slight polyhydramnios so have consultant next week to discuss induction or not however they did say the fluid is just borderline at the moment. How is everyone feeling at this stage? 😊

Hey lovely you might be better off joining a group like BabyCentre where you can join a birth club with other mums due in March :)

I'm not preg right now but just wanted to say the last minute nerves are normal.

I was induced and tbh it was totally fine. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Best of luck to you

watchtheglitterdustswirl · 17/02/2022 13:55

Totally normal. Why don't you have a look on here for your birth group? There will be loads of mums in your position.

My only advice would be to think of your birth plan as preferences, not a plan. These things don't usually go 'to plan' and accepting this ahead of time helps avoid disappointment!

My advice would also to be take ALL the drugs and as early as possible but not everyone agrees Grin

Good luck.

I strongly agree Smile

I was due 2 days ago with my 2nd and trying not to think about it. A couple of weeks ago I was getting very overwhelmed and emotional. I’m now trying to just get on with things and not think about what’s coming up

Me too Grin unless you’re against it on principle I recommend hitting the drug cabinet as soon as you want to. No points for brave.

It’s normal to be nervous first time. They got the weights of both of mine wrong when I was pregnant, it’s not an exact science- but if they’re already watching then they’re ready for anything so try to take comfort from that. Try to go with the flow, we have no idea what will happen so try not to imagine it too much just get lots of sleep and enjoy the last few days.

Hi, I'm due mid March with my second baby. Good luck, you'll do brilliantly. With my first I didn't actually consciously push, my body just took over and did it for me. Pushed for just under half an hour and baby was nearly 9 pounds. You can do it and whatever happens you'll be ok Thanks

Goldi321 · 17/02/2022 14:15

I’m a day behind you and feeling so shit I created a thread about it on here! Starting to get nervous but also inpatient, want to meet baby and start the looong journey towards getting my body back. I have a list as long as my arm of things I should be doing- perineal massage (I can’t bloody reach!), hand expressing colostrum (I get a drop or so out in the shower max) etc but I CBA. Feeling so exhausted and in pain to do much but sit/lay around in whatever position is comfortable for a few seconds.

mrscotton · 17/02/2022 14:16

Im due 12th March with my first baby. I'm starting to get more worried about it especially as I finish work tomorrow for mat leave.

I have had a straight forward pregnancy with only one visit to maternity for reduced movements about a month ago otherwise just normal appointments but having growth scans. I am hoping baby decides to come on his own too.

Aww thank you all for replying 😊. I'm just new to Mumsnet so don't really know how to work it yet 😂 I know not to plan my birth as chances are it won't go that way anyway. Had midwife today and he's not engaged yet, next appt is 2 days after due date where she said she will do a sweep if he is engaged. Anyone had a sweep?

SockFluffInTheBath · 17/02/2022 14:30

I had sweeps when both of mine were a week overdue and I popped the next day both times. There’s anecdotal evidence to say sweeps are useful/pointless, but they seemed to work for me and weren’t painful.

Hufflespuff · 17/02/2022 14:34

Try and remember that your body is designed for this. It will be painful but you are built for this. And should it become too much or there are any issues, we are fortunate to live in a country where pain relief and interventions are available. Try to focus on the outcome - meeting your baby!! - rather than the labour process which is just a temporary means to an end. Good luck!

Violetmo0n · 17/02/2022 14:34

I had a sweep, didn't do anything for me but they can be very effective for some!

AwkwardPaws27 · 17/02/2022 14:38

There's a whole thread for March & April due dates Smile you'll probably find lots of support there

@AwkwardPaws27 thank you I'll have a nosey on this

I have heard some people say sweeps dont work and just cause pain. Not sure whether i would have one if i go over my due date.

Mon2468 · 17/02/2022 17:40

@Goldi321 what's the thread called?
