Hospital bag??

Still a bit early for me, I'm 24 weeks but I've been thinking about what to put in my hospital bag. I already have a 7 year old but can't remember what I packed for her.

Of course vests, sleepsuits and hats but do you pack nappies?? Or do you get them at the hospital?

What about for me? A change of clothes, Pajamas.

What are you packing or what did you pack? Is there anything you didn't take that you wished you did?

So I used large sandwich bags and put about 4/5 outfits in one each for baby. So baby grow, vest, mittens, hat, bib in each one. Then take nappies, I got water wipes and took some cotton wool balls. I took muslin clothes for baby, dummies, bottle and formula ( wasn't sure whether I was going to be able to breast feed or not)

For me, rubbish pj's are needed, I ruined my good ones in labour. Then nice pj's x2, hygiene items (wipes, deodorant, pads lots of them, breast pads etc), Bridget Jones knickers 🤣, snacks, nipple shields (I didn't take them but wish I had), phone charger, activities for

@HiKelsey oh I like the idea of the sandwhich bags! And I hadn't even thought about pads and breast pads. Thank you! This is so helpful

An extra long charging cable.
Put the first outfit in a clearly labelled bag as it won’t be you looking for it or dressing the baby!

Sorry for long post! Might not need most of it but it all fit in a small suitcase so thought might as well.

Oh and fill a little bag with extra and leave at home. My DD has a milk allergy and reflux so when we stayed overnight she had thrown up all over her clothes in the night so ex had to bring extra

I hope you won’t need it but an inflatable rubber ring for the journey home has been my friend both times!
Some ‘treat’ shower gel
Cheap flip flops for the shower you can bin after use
Hairbands
Evian spritz
Spritz for bitz- it made such a difference to my recovery second time around (a really bad tear and numerous stitches, worse than the episiotomy first time around)

OverTheRainbow18 · 16/02/2022 21:16

Things I took on top of clothes for me and baby- Definitely a lip balm because the gas and air makes your lips dry. A long phone charger. A fan or cooling spray. Drinks and snacks, I took the flat lucozade drinks. I also took pads and always underwear. Breastfeeding friendly tops if you hope to breastfeed. X
