For those who have kids already , I’m wondering what is the one thing you bought for your baby that you couldn’t have lived without or something they really enjoyed . However big or small .

Baby Bjorn bouncer. Bought second hand. Have no idea how we would have survived without it!

IrishMamaMia · 16/02/2022 12:50

Echo poster above with the Chicco travel high chair. Just had it for my second and so worth it. I also have the chicco oh lala pushchair. It's fantastic, so cheap but so light for the tube. Also love the shnuggle baby bath. Mine have used it into childhood 😂

onedayoranother · 16/02/2022 12:50

Sleeping bags. My kids were born big so as soon as it was needed in they went so never had a cold baby and it also made turning over trickier (do they tended to stay on their backs).
A bouncy chair for my second - my god that was essential for a refluxy fussy baby.
Travel cot - for naps they slept in it downstairs.

orinocosfavoritecake · 16/02/2022 12:51

Sling, gro-bags. Ready made formula

SpongebobsPants · 16/02/2022 12:56

Agree about sleeping bags. They are fantastic. You can lift your baby when they are upset and they stay toasty warm because they aren't being taken out from under sheets and blankets.

A good sized play mat with lots of textures and noises.

MangoLipstick · 16/02/2022 12:58

Snuzpod next to me crib - really well made and looks lovely

Ergo 360 carrier, we all loved it. It meant we could go for nice long walks in spring/summer , eat out etc, dd loved being able to see everything and would nap so well when we were out and about.

White noise machine - the cloud and sheep one are both great

Loads of sleep suits - dd lived in them till she was about 6 months old, I didn’t really bother with other types of clothes.

Pyewhacket · 16/02/2022 13:01

Nanny.

hauntedvagina · 16/02/2022 13:01

Perfect Prep
MAM bottles
Giant muslin clothes
Regular sized muslin clothes
Ergo baby carrier
Grobag sleep suits with quilted arms

SpongebobsPants · 16/02/2022 13:03

For further down the line, the IKEA Antilop high chair. Cheap as chips, easy to clean and fits perfectly at the table when the tray is removed, so the child feels part of everything. We only discovered how good they were when we took DS1 to IKEA and, for the first time ever, he sat happily in the high chair without shouting at us and trying to escape🤣 We bought one and took it home and the fancy one I'd spent hours choosing on t'internet, went down to my mum's as a spare!!

RedRoseRay · 16/02/2022 13:07

Plastic stacking cups

They would build them into tall towers, use them in the sand pit in the back garden and my youngest still plays with them in the bath.

Cost appx £5-10 and they’ve been played with more than any other toy I’ve bought,

LolaSmiles · 16/02/2022 13:09

Stretchy sling wrap

Large muslin cloths

Grobag snuggle - half way between a sleeping bag and a swaddle as baby can have arms in and arms out depending on age and comfort

Finding a brilliant breastfeeding support consultant (can't remember if you mentioned how you plan to feed, but I always stress this if a Mum wants to breastfeed as correct support is huge for Mum's to do what is right for them)

Grazka · 16/02/2022 13:17

Baby Bjorn carrier
Sleepyhead pod

FreestyleInTrance · 16/02/2022 13:36

2nd hand Chicco Polly Magic - a highchair that reclines and can be used from birth - until we got it we had to hold DD during each meal, but once she could 'sit'(lie) at the same height as us she was generally quite happy, which made eating so much easier! We never used it for feeding her though (too many layers to clean!), so I was glad to spend £10 instead of £150ish!

Perfect Prep... I ended up triple feeding for 6 months, and lasted less than 24 hours of formula use before I Amazon Primed myself one of these. Especially useful in the middle of the night.

Chicco Pocket Snack travel highchair. Brilliant for out and about / visiting family. Especially useful when first weaning, those big wooden high chairs just don't suit a 6 month old... and you a) have a tray and b) know it's clean.

Ergobaby Metro pushchair... I walked everywhere when I had a travel system, because it was such a pain getting it on and off a bus... then I switched to this pushchair and suddenly I could get it on buses, trains, planes, I wish I'd had it from the start!

Fleur405 · 16/02/2022 13:40

The baby bjorn bouncer and also large muslins (swaddling size) as you can use them as sort of sheets in the pram/crib, as an extra blanket, as a sun shield, a breastfeeding cover and just for the regular cleaning up of sick!

LovelyLupins · 16/02/2022 13:40

A v shaped cushion for bf, an ikea highchair, a floor mat and baby sleeping bags

coconuthead · 16/02/2022 13:41

Sling
Next to me crib
Dummies!

mummyh2016 · 16/02/2022 13:41

1st baby I'd have said a myhummy and bouncer chair. DD had colic so couldn't use the perfect prep due to for her milk had to be made.
This time I'd say perfect prep, tommee tippee swaddle wraps and a nappy bin (the angelcare one not the tommee tippee one), it actually keeps the smells out so it only needs emptying when it's full rather than every couple of days like the tommee tippee one. I may potentially add the myhummy again however we've only just starred using this so ask me again in a couple of weeks!

coconuthead · 16/02/2022 13:42

Oh and the sleepy head!

Fleur405 · 16/02/2022 13:42

Oh I also love our Tripp Trapp highchair (got it on eBay - it looks good in the kitchen but also our OT said she’s a big fan of them)

Marlena1 · 16/02/2022 13:44

Second hand changing unit from marketplace. I was advised by people not to buy one as they are unnecessary. While this is true in a way, it really saved my back. When away I always noticed how sore my back was from bending. Plus it meant all changing stuff was to hand.

Fuuuuuckit · 16/02/2022 13:45

Without a doubt, nighties for dc2. Saved so much time and sleep during nocturnal feeds and nappy changes - up and change, pull down and done without wrangling limbs into a babygro and totally waking them up. Made such a difference from dc1.

I got mine from Mothercare, no idea where you'd get them now.

snowdropsanddaffodils · 16/02/2022 13:51

Twins.....second hand perfect prep night/day machine for £30! Bargain

When they got to 6 months a £15 bath seat which they sit upright in and can't climb out of - it's made me a lot less anxious about one par of hands and two slippery wriggly babies!

A bowl you put warm/hot water inside and it heats up/keeps baby food warm but not too hot

cultkid · 16/02/2022 13:51
