Just wondered if anyone has been through this?
Had a scan last week at 12+1 all was fine - just found out I have covid. Feeling very rough.

Has anyone had covid during this stage and all been well? Very doom and gloom on good old google

Bit later on than you, but I have it at the moment at 24 weeks. My midwife didn't seem concerned (called to inform her & rebook 24 week appt) & other than a nasty cough I'm now starting to feel a lot better.
The midwife even said try to see it as another booster (I'm double vacc'd & had my booster in December) and hopefully this means I'll avoid getting it in the third trimester.

@AwkwardPaws27 so sorry you have it too but I'm glad you're on the mend. I'm at the rough stage of it - coughing non stop just hoping to get through the night without waking too much!

I LOVE what your midwife said - and can't thank you enough for sharing that - it's actually put me in a positive mindset.

Pregnancy anxiety is hard but add being covid positive and it seems like a new level

Thanks again - sending healing thoughts your way! X

You too, hope you feel much better soon.
I've still got the cough but it's not waking me up at night now, you'll feel so much better once you can sleep properly!

SouthwestSis · 15/02/2022 00:34

You'll be fine as long as you've had your jabs.
Sending my sympathy as I've also got covid this week! Get well soon x

lulabilly · 15/02/2022 02:04

I had it at 32 weeks and only got mild flu symptoms for 4 days although I did feel extra breathless. 38 weeks now and baby is doing fine. I’m double vacc’d thankfully!

MontyFALD · 15/02/2022 08:48

@SouthwestSis thanks! I've had both jabs and booster but I'm surprised how rough I feel - which leaves me worried for baby :/ how are you feeling? Hope you're better soon!!

@lulabilly so glad you and baby are doing well 💕 thank you for sharing the positive side of this! There's so much negative online. Which has left me so blooming worried!

@MontyFALD I hope you’re feeling better soon, take it easy.

I had it around 10 weeks, now 33 weeks and all looking healthy and on track. I was scanned straight after having it as I was so anxious and everything looked fine and midwife wasn't concerned. I feel your pain, covid at that time in pregnancy is very rough!!! I had morning sickness alongside the cough and fatique... Torture! Hope you're feeling better soon. X

shannonlt · 21/02/2022 13:26

I had covid at 10/11 weeks and felt really rough for around a week. I was fully vaxxed + boosted. Had my 12 week scan not long after coming out of isolation and all looked fine! Got another scan booked for next week at 16 weeks (private gender scan) and hopefully everything will still be all good! So many people have caught covid and there doesn't seem to be any long term effects as long as you're fully vaccinated :)

WorryMcGee · 21/02/2022 13:46

I had it for the second time at 29 weeks. The first time I had it was before vaccines and it was like the flu for me, felt rough for about five days but no lasting effects. I have had the first two jabs but no booster and this time around I had sinus pain for two days and that was it. Ran 5k as soon as I was allowed out. All is absolutely fine, despite me being in my third trimester which is apparently the worst time to get it? Get well soon and think of the antibodies Smile

theivfnewgirl · 12/04/2022 11:56

Does anyone have any magical remedies or advice on how to relieve congestion, cough and sore throat during pregnancy?
I’m almost 12 weeks and the cough is keeping me awake. Other than drinking lots of water and vitamin c I’m not sure what else I can do. Any advice appreciated Smile

CSR721 · 12/04/2022 12:00

I had it between 6 and 7w. Had a scan when I just got out of isolation and all was good xx

Regenbogen22 · 12/04/2022 12:01

Steam inhalation as often as you can, really helps my annoying cough.

Lots of hot tea for the throat.

Nasal/sinus rinse for the congestion. Plus fresh air.

annlee3817 · 12/04/2022 12:17

@theivfnewgirl menthol crystals are really good for relieving congestion and reducing swelling in sinuses, pop them in a bowl of hot water and just sit near it, you only need a tiny amount. For the night time coughing you could try honey and lemon before bed, and also propping yourself up a little

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 12/04/2022 12:27

I had it at 14 weeks 3 weeks ago. Felt absolutely dreadful. I have all vaccines and booster. Was surprised how ill I was considering the vaccine. I'm still not right now Confused

DontWiltMySpinachPlease · 12/04/2022 14:12

I got it at 5 weeks and my doctor assured me the variants currently in circulation in the UK are all fairly mild and that is was incredibly unlikely to harm baby in any way. Feel better soon! X

Tor88 · 23/11/2022 17:29

@MontyFALD did everything turn out for you ok? Am 12+5 and just tested positive so stressing! This is a v reassuring thread though 🙏

sleepygurl · 23/11/2022 17:31

@Tor88 I had it when I was 8 weeks and felt like absolute death. Lo is now 19 weeks and perfectly healthy.

Tor88 · 23/11/2022 17:43

@sleepygurl oh thank you 🙏 and congratulations!! Yes I feel terrible, it's sort of hard to believe that you can feel so poorly and the thing inside you can still be ok isn't it?! Being pregnant is really just one panic after a other lol 😅😅

sleepygurl · 23/11/2022 18:08

@Tor88 I know, and it's all well and good me saying it now but I was definitely stressed as feck at the time. First time pregnant as well which makes everything worse lol

One midwife actually said it could be good as you pass the antibodies onto your little baby!

shannonlt · 23/11/2022 21:55

@Tor88 not who you asked but I had covid at 10 weeks pregnant and now have a healthy little boy who's just turned 15 weeks today! I know it's hard but try not to worry!

babyjellyfish · 23/11/2022 22:09

I had it at 13 weeks, no issues. Now 33 weeks.
