Pain at 25 weeks - should I get checked?

Im 25 weeks pregnant and all day have had period-like pain in my lower abdomen along with some lower back pain. No contractions/tightenings or Braxton Hicks.
I tested positive for covid on Thursday and this morning had some very mild diarrhoea. I’d attributed the pain to a stomach upset caused by covid, and the back pain to the fact I’ve been lying down resting yesterday/today but is this wrong of me? Should I call the maternity unit or would that only be necessary if I was having contractions? I don’t want to make a fuss unnecessarily, especially as I have covid and obviously don’t want to take it into a maternity unit.

As an aside, how would I get to hospital if they wanted me to go in? I don’t think I can drive (not due to the pain but I generally feel like crap and am totally exhausted and don’t think I’d be safe), DH can’t have a driving licence for medical reasons and obviously I can’t get a taxi.

Absolutely call them, it’s not just for labour pain it’s for anything unusual or that’s worrying you. Theyl have dealt with thousands of different situations and you never no what they may pick out of your symptoms.

They may just give advice in the first instance so don’t worry about getting there before you phone them, worry about that if it comes to it. Hopefully it won’t come to that.

Thanks - you’re right of course, I just needed a push that I wasn’t being silly.

I’ve just spoken to them and after going through my symptoms etc they’ve said it does sound more gastric and related to the covid than a pregnancy issue so to make sure I’m drinking enough water and call them back if anything changes.

I had terrible back pain when I had covid at 23 weeks, was in agony. They said if I needed to be seen I would have to call ahead to the hospital to tell them I had covid and they'd tell me the plan. Luckily it went away after keeping on top of my pain killers.

They'll definitely see you if you need assistance despite covid though.

I’ve had bad cramps that’s been down to diarrhoea. You’re also at the stage where ligaments are stretching and joints listening and generally just causing cramping and pain to make room for baby and start preparing for labour etc

As long as pain isn’t under your ribs on the right and you have signs of preeclampsia I wouldn’t worry. Hope you feel better soon!
