Pink and brown discharge *warning - photo*

Been getting brownish rusty discharge for the last two days which is starting to get more pink. I’m 7+1 and terrified. I have attached a pic. Does this look like anything I should be concerned about? I do have mild cramping, but I’ve had the cramps on and off since I got my BFP. I have a private scan booked for this Saturday so the waiting between now and then is killing me.

Thanks @ElleGB, I hope so.

@Ceara thank you, that’s reassuring to hear that you also had a red bleed after the scan. Some other people said that they had a bit of spotting but this was more like a light period.

@Moonshine160 yes it did and I was sore underneath for days. I really don’t think transvaginal scans are a good idea especially with a history of miscarriage ( which I had). I mean they tell you not to have sex but it’s ok to stick a massive probe up there? HmmI just waited it out in my next pregnancy until they could see abdominally

@Moonshine160 Hi! I'm so sorry to hear of this horrible ordeal! Just wanted to share my experience as when I was pregnant with my little one (now 2) I had spotting just like your photographs. It was very scary but the thing I noticed was that it would only last for two-ish days and only happened for the first three months bang on when I WOULD have been having my period!! So it might be worth checking your dates! It totally stopped in the second trimester and I had a 100% smooth pregnancy and birth. My mum said the same thing had happened to her when she was pregnant! The bright red blood is of course more concerning but as you have suggested, it could have been a result of the prodding and poking! Here's to hoping your experience is similar to mine. All the best. Xxx

How did you get on today @Moonshine160 ? ❤️

Moonshine160 · 12/02/2022 17:54

Hi everyone.
All was fine at the scan! So relieved. Heartbeat was strong and in the normal range too. They couldn’t see where any bleeding would have come from so it must have been from my cervix from the internal scan. I am surprised as there was a LOT of blood, like a heavy period. Needless to say I will not be having one of those scans again!
Had some more brown discharge since being home so I don’t think I’ll be able to fully relax until it’s stopped but so thankful for some good news today. X
