Long time lurker first time posted.

I was wondering if anybody could help as I am at my wits end now. Currently 34 weeks pregnant with my first child and I have become quite the snorer according to my partner. So much so that he is sleeping on the sofa most nights. I have a pregnancy pillow & I’m sleeping on my side but it doesn’t seem to help. I’ve told the midwife and I get the ‘it’s due to the weight gain/hormones and it will stop once the baby is here, not long to go’ fob off so I’ve come to mumsnet to see if there is anything…. Literally anything else I can do to stop or either try and not snore as much… please Blush

Also 34 weeks and very much the same here.
No useful tips unfortunately. Earlier in pregnancy I had some Breathe Right strips (drug free ones) which did help. But as the pregnancy went on I started snoring even when wearing them 😒
Hoping someone else has some ideas x

I have no advice but I had the very same issue when I was pregnant. It drove DH nuts and would start as soon as I fell asleep, no matter what position I slept in.
As soon as baby was born, it instantly stopped.
🤷🏻‍♀️ he'll need to just love with it for the next 6 weeks!

I suffer from snoring occasionally (not just in pregnancy). I find steam can help, bowl of hot water, chuck a bunch of mint in and then sit over it for 5 minutes with a towel over your head.

Nasal strips can help as well.

So irritating isn’t it. I’ve also got hip pain so if I’m not tossing and turning all night trying to get comfortable I’m now snoring. I’ve tried the strips but no luck… there’s got to be something

If you ever get an answer, let me know. I snore on and off outside of pregnancy, but atm it's especially bad. Might be the best you can do is make the sofa a little more comfy for DH. Or for you. The backrest is handy for keeping me on my side on the occasion I really cannot sleep in my own bed.

I’ve tried sleeping on the sofa however because I suffer from hip pain it doesn’t help. I’m working from home so it’s easier for to me have a nap around midday if I have a bad nights sleep whereas my partner is having to go into work. I’ve been doing really well until 3rd trimester and it’s been indigestion, hip pain, restless legs and now snoring

This was me during my first pregnancy Blush...so much so the one question my husband had for the midwife was "when will she stop snoring?!" Ha. Nothing really worked for me but I'm happy to say it did stop after birth. Good luck!!
