Early pregnancy really struggling

Hey, I'm 6 and a half weeks pregnant and seriously struggling. I had covid last year in august and my sense of smell/taste has not been right since, but I have been able to eat.

Since around a week and a half ago my sense of smell has completely changed to the point where I'm struggling to eat anything. Chicken, other meats, bread, crisps anything all taste rotten and the same, all I've been able to eat is nuts and fruits. Today I have had 1 apple and a handful of redskin nuts

To add to this I am also struggling with morning sickness so the little I do eat I am then throwing it up. I'm really worried but I'm scared the doctors won't help as I can keep water and fluids down. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions as I'm really struggling both mentally and physically.

Thankyou x

Oh op, that sounds tough. Honestly, if your doctor is normally good of course they’ll help you. There is an anti sickness medication they can prescribe. You’d not be wasting theirs or your time. I was fortunate in that I didn’t experience extreme sickness with my pregnancies but I’ve read enough on here to know it’s sadly common. Hopefully someone who has been in your shoes will be along to share their “survival” tips but if I were you I’d be making an appointment with my doctor. I really hope you get some relief soon.

Hey
I suffered with extreme nausea during the early stages. I struggled to eat and drink. Even though I wasn't throwing up, the doctors did try and help.

I was admitted to the EPU as I was dehydrated and had a UTI.

I'm currently 13 weeks and things are starting to ease.

Try drinking ginger tea. I also smell vicks vapo rub, I found this provided a distraction

I had terrible nausea for the first few weeks. I didn't want to eat anything, what I did eat I brought back up. And was dehydrated and then suffered constipation which made me feel worse!
I found sucking jolly rancher sweets made me feel better!
My midwife suggested grating ginger into hot water to make tea.
It will pass, but it is horrible. Thanks
