Do you actively avoid TTC certain months

Curious how many people actively avoid TTC in certain months to try influence due dates ? I suffered a MC just over 2 weeks ago on my first pregnancy and was delighted to have a due date in September I always knew for what ever strange reason I wanted a summer baby, romantic notions maybe . I also know I don't want a due date in December or early January . I don't want them to have Christmas and birthday all together .

Yes we did, avoided August, and woupd have avoided January as well if i hadn't of got pregnant.

Nah. I definitely have preferences but wouldn't "waste" a month ttc.
If I could pick a due date it would probably be Spring. I'd avoid Dec/Jan as the weather is so cold.

I wanted autumn babies so I started TTC in Dec/Jan each time. But once I'd started TTC I didn't stop / miss out a month. From that point it was up to fate!

Lostintranslatio · 04/02/2022 18:16

I did at the beginning of TTC. After seeing it was taking us so long I could not bother "wasting" cycles.

theotherfossilsister · 04/02/2022 18:21

No. It took us three years to conceive

stuntbubbles · 04/02/2022 18:23

No, I’m 103 and every month my eggs get ropier, I’m not wasting a month – I don’t care when my baby arrives, I just want them to get here.

Machina01 · 04/02/2022 18:25

Jeez, must be nice to have that luxury. After 7 MCs we took what we were given!

RosaBaby2 · 04/02/2022 18:27

Absolutely not, it took 15 months as it is.

mummyh2016 · 04/02/2022 18:39

I didn't avoid certain months but DD is a summer baby, ideally I didn't want the next baby to be summer so started trying January last year. Took 4 months to conceive but if it had taken longer I wouldn't have stopped.

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 04/02/2022 18:52

No I didn’t, it has taken varying amounts of time to conceive all 3 of mine, Ds1 took 5 months, ds2 was conceived immediately after coming off the pill, dd1 took 8 months. I couldn’t have planned it really. Well I guess I could have avoided specific months but I just wanted a baby so I wouldn’t have wanted to miss out months. I’ve ended up with 2 May babies and one December one. There’s pros and cons to all of them really. May is a nicer time of year to have a birthday but they are younger in the school year whereas December is kind of annoying in that it’s close to Christmas but he is older in the school year. Also if I’d avoided that month to avoid a December baby I wouldn’t have ds2 I’d have a different child and he is amazing and I wouldn’t change him for the world.

I did because I was a bridesmaid twice. I regret it now (sort off) as we ended up needing ivf. we likely would have needed it anyway but if I were to try again I'd crack on.

BunnyRuddington · 04/02/2022 19:03

No just kept going. DC2 is an August baby abs she did struggle a little at school at first but she usually has fantastic weather for her birthday.

Like others have said, there are pros and cons whenever you have them and it was a bit of a journey to get 2 babies so we just kept going.

Pitstop1986 · 04/02/2022 19:08

I tried not to get pregnant in march/ April as had just had my first Covid vaccine and wanted to get the second before getting pregnant, plus didn't want a baby born around Christmas or New year.

Sod's law is that I conceived without trying (still unsure how it happened to be honest!) and gave birth to a beautiful daughter a month ago.

Wouldn't change it for the world though!
