I had a loss at 18 weeks in previous pregnancy, so this time i was more cautious and had scan at hospital at 17 weeks which measured at 3.9 cm consultant was satisfied and said to wait for another 3 weeks to decide if we need stitch.

When I came home I noticed green discharge and told hospital they said they would take swab and very next day i had a very bad cough and felt so pressure in my pelvis .. I booked a private scan and today right after 3 days my cervix is measuring 3.1cm ...

Im so lost at words.. losing my faith and hope😭😭😭😭 contacted hospital pre term would open tomorrow and lets see if they could scan me again and put stitches

😭😭😭im crying

Sorry for your previous loss. Try not to panic too much, it's doubtful that it will change much more before you speak to the hospital pre term tomorrow, I know shortening is scary, but more than 3cm is still workable. There is a really good website that I used in my last pregnancy called keepemcooking, with people who have experienced problems with their cervix in pregnancy at all levels. Hope you get some reassurance with the pre term clinic and they can discuss options with you.

I used progesterone pessaries last time three times a day which kept my cervix stable as was too late for the stitch at 24 weeks, are you on those at all?

I had something similar. Loss at 20 weeks and with my recent pregnancy at 22 weeks I went for a private scan to be told cervix was open and membranes bulging. I ended up having an emergency stitch that day which bought me 2 weeks. Would likely have been longer had there been more to work with at the time the stitch was put in so as others have said don't panic yet but you do need to go back first thing in the morning for the stitch and antibiotics as green discharge signals an infection.
