Hello ladies

Need some advice. I will be 24 weeks tomorrow, have felt movement since week 16-18 and most of the time there’s been a pattern. I don’t feel much movement when I’m at work because I’m so busy.
The pattern is I normally feel movement on/off in the morning from 6am till about 11am, then nothing for a few hours and then again on/off from about 4pm till I go to sleep. Im assuming baby is asleep when I don’t feel movement or???

Today I’ve felt movement most of the day not even had the “break” I’m used to.

My question is does movement increase with time? Shall I be worried that I’ve felt movement all day today?

And regarding decereased movement, where do you draw the line, can babies have a “lazy day” and not move much if yes when should you co tact triage?

I know all pregnancies are different just want some advice. Thank you in advance 🌸

I'm 25+2 and have a similar pattern each day! It's slowly increasing and I can feel baby more/stronger movements. This is my second baby and I've got a posterior placenta.

I was told by my midwife to ring triage from 24 weeks onwards if you feel that movement has changed. There is nothing worse than sitting worrying! They do recommend you lie on your left side, have a glass of something cold or sugary and monitor how many movements you feel in an hour.

I'm sure baby is just having a quiet day or tucked up in a position that you aren't feeling! Definitely ring if you aren't sure x

You'll fall into a pattern, and they will move more and more.

The reduced, you'll just know if they haven't moved as much as normal. That is when you ring up and ask the hospital.

Don't leave it. Don't wait. Dontt go on Mumsnet and ask. Don't think "I'll see how it is in the morning.

Ring straight away.

They won't care if you go in in a .il times unde false alarms etc.

It’s not reduced movement that you need to look out for; it’s any change to the movement. Sometimes a dying baby will be overly active in their final moments. If in doubt, go to the hospital to get checked out. Better to waste everyone’s time throughout your pregnancy than have an avoidable stillbirth or neonatal death.

It's any change in movement.
So if you feel they are being quite hyper in movements so to speak I would ring just as much with having reduced movements.

It does increase as time goes on.

But I would always ring if you are just unsure. They are more than happy to see you and would rather you rang.

Just call triage - they’ll tell you what to do.

I called triage yesterday evening midwife said not to worry about it as it’s normal for baby to be very very active and there isn’t a pattern yet, baby was super active all night (which has never happened before) so called triage again early morning and was seen by midwife who checked heartbeat with doppler and said everything was fine 🙏🏻
