How does induction impact your maternity leave?

I'm not sure how I'd inform my company if I have to be induced early (my mat leave starts at 39 weeks I'm currently 36 weeks but I know I'm measuring quite small)

Should I need to be induced I'm not sure what happens? has anyone been in this situation? what do you say / do?

I also work from home so I'm not sure if they'd expect me to continue? I've seen that normally leave starts the day after you give birth if it's early.

I was induced after I started Maternity leave but I would assume that as you are likely to be induced in hospital and if it is within 4 weeks if your due date it would trigger the start of maternity leave.

If baby arrives before maternity leave has been requested to start, it automatically starts from day of or day after baby is born. Whether you are induced or not. You won't be expected to work from that point.

You mat leave would apart the day you are Induced, presuming you aren't also working that day.

If you haven’t already started maternity leave, it starts whenever baby arrives, however baby arrives. If you’re signed off sick past 36 weeks your maternity leave automatically kicks in.

I was induced. I started the process on the Friday, which I’d taken as annual leave and baby was born on the Saturday. My maternity leave started on the Monday (I’d planned it to start then) and I didn’t have to alter my start date because the start date was the first working day my baby was here.
