What is your average heart rate?

I’m 14 weeks and started to notice that my heart rate is increasing and I don’t know whether it’s normal or not.

Before pregnancy, my heart rate was around 65ish bmp at rest, now it’s typically between 85bmp or even higher.

I’ve just come back from an hour walk and it’s currently 97bmp 🥴. It wasn’t a typically taxing walk, I live in London, so it wasn’t like I was walking up loads of hills.

Has anyone notice the same thing? Is it something I should raise with my midwife?

When I was pregnant with my twins my resting heart rate went from 67 pre pregnancy to over 100 - it's totally
Normally. During pregnancy you can have a 1/3 extra amount of blood in your body and your heart has to work harder

@bonetiredwithtwins thank you, that’s helpful to know.

Each day I learn something new about pregnancy and what a wild ride it is for your body!

I’m 24 weeks; my RHR pre-pregnancy fluctuated depending on where I was in my cycle but was around 58-61 bpm. It's now been on 74 bpm for over a week, having climbed steadily since conception.

My RHR pre pregnancy was usually between 49 and 55, now at almost 10 weeks it's 65, but putting that down to not being able to run at the moment, so fitness has dropped a bit

You can mention it to your midwife as extra precaution but I think it is pretty normal in pregnancy especially around that time.
I was the same as you, between weeks 14-17 my resting heart rate shot up to at least 90, and 100+ many times. I could even hear my pulse in my ear most days and all I’d be doing was sitting or lying down, not enjoyable.
I’m now 36 weeks and it’s calmed down a lot (consistently between 60-70). I think those earlier weeks the increase in blood volume makes your heart work harder until it has time to get used to it and adjust to having to pump more blood.

Thats not bad at all. My resting is normally 85bpm and now in 3rd trimester its like 110bpm. I am being monitored for it as its considered on the high side but scans ECO and ECG are all fine.

Whats your blood pressure like?

@abbs1 there weren’t any concerns when I had my booking appointment at 8 weeks, nor have I had any issues before pregnancy.

This evening, I’m back down to 69/70bmp, so I think it was just the walk that really got my heart pumping! It was only 4km and a very flat walk, so really surprised me!

Just looked at mine over my last pregnancy. It increased from 63 at conception to 67 at 4 to 6 months. It then fell back to 64 for the rest of pregnancy. After giving birth it dropped loads to 57 before increasing again over the next few months.

Oh thats good. As others have said in pregnancy you have higher blood volume and as baby grows they push on your lungs as well.

If your worried or feel unwell or your heart racing definitely get it checked out.
