Me!
I'm having one in April.

DD was an em cs under GA, 7years ago, DS was an el cs 3 years ago yesterday!

I tried one, it ended up another section, but it was an easy section and I'm glad I tried (elective ds2 had breathing problems- think the labour helped ds3).

cass66 · 30/12/2007 16:53

interesting. I am thinking about it too. not sure at present which way I'll go. had an em section with severe pre-eclampsia, then another em section at 9cm after failure to progress. now aged 5 and 3. due in july, so a long time to decide yet.

not sure I want to gear myself up to try again for a vaginal del, only to fail, again. but having another section means not being able to drive for 4 weeks etc. I did recover quite quickly after my second section though, and it would be a lot easier planning childcare etc. I'm also not planning to have anymore after this.

decisions decisions!!

I'd really recomend Michel Odents book on Caesarians. It was that book that made me give it a go, and also that book that made me insist on early diversion to c-section. He distinguishes between emergency, elective and what he calls 'in labour sections'.

As well as here on MN you will also gets of support here too! We have lots of VBA2Cers there as well as a VBA3Cer. Currently we have a VBA2Cer who was 40 weeks on Boxing day so she will be birthing anytime in the next two weeks! Am checking constantly for a BA....

VictorianSqualor · 30/12/2007 17:21

There is this thread on here for VBACers which has helped me tremendously.
Have you seen your consultant and got the go-ahead etc yet?
I was so concerned about getting the ok from mine I couldn't believe it when she didn't argue! (My cons for my 2nd cs was an arse and told me I wasn't allowed a VBAC )
Only problem I have now is I've been transferred to a new cons. as there is something wrong with the way my placenta is working or something, I see him next week so am gearing up for the fight again!

lumpybumpymummy · 30/12/2007 18:09

yes mine agreed i dont want to go into a huge debate on here but by law they can force you to have a csection if you want a vba2c you can have one yes they might argue with you but its not something thats impossible i think some hospitals are just to lazy to want to keep an eye on you not saying all hospital forget the term allowed what they going to do force you to sign the csection papers tell them your having one make sure your loaded with infomation id help that i had my midwife behide but if not i would still of fighted them for it

I'm planning my vba2c for March! I'm actually rather excited about it! I know it might not go according to plan, but I'm doing everything I can to try and help matters - good posture, seeing osteopath, sitting on ball, sleeping with pillow between knees, etc, etc.

Dottydot · 31/12/2007 11:54
