25wks decreased movements

Hi all, not sure if I’m worrying over nothing but I’m 25wks +3 and my little one is starting to get into a routine with kicks, I normally feel her every couple of hours a throughout the day, especially when I eat, and then she can be active a bit more at night. Today I had a fair bit of uncomfortable cramping and some tightening (braxton hicks, these aren’t uncommon for me but haven’t had them in a while), baby didn’t move much at all throughout the day, and even when she did it was maybe one movement and it was not as obvious. I was ready to go to the hosp but now she has been moving about a bit for the last 20 mins. Should I ignore it now that she’s moving again or do you think it still warrants getting checked as it was unusual today and with the cramps and pains too?.....thanks all!!

Ring labour ward and speak to a midwife. Better to waste a little bit of time when you don't need to, than not ring when you should. No point taking the chance.

Sounds like everything is probably fine, but better to be safe than sorry I think, I would want the reassurance myself Smile

Always call or go in and get checked

I was in there about 5 times for reduced movements - felt like I was wasting their time

But the midwives were always lovely and always said it was better to come in and have it checked

Get checked. The midwives would much rather you did that. I was in on Saturday for the first time at 26+5 and they were lovely and reassuring. They will only use the doppler before 28 weeks but worth going anyway!

This happened with us.

Baby had moved to the back and we couldn't feel any movement for 24hrs

Thanks all for the advice, I rang the hospital last night and midwife was happy that everything sounded ok and just said to monitor today and if I was insure then come in. Baby ended up being very active for a good while late at night so definitely gave me the reassurance I needed!
@BabyOnBoard90 the midwife made this point and she may well have been right, my placenta is to the front so she suggested that baby moved in behind it and I just couldn’t feel much all day. She couldn’t explain the cramps etc but she said it was a good sign that it all had settled and not gotten worse.
Will keep an eye today but she’s already back into her routine and moving a good bit this morn so hopefully all is well xx thanks again all

I'm on my 5th pregnancy and 21 wks. My placenta is in the front also so movement wise they aren't as clear as they were in my previous pregnancies. If I sit still I can feel movement though. It's really strange and dies cause a little anxiety which is why I got a Doppler. My midwife showed me how to use it correctly and what I should be looking for.

And cramps wise I've had them from quite early in my past 3 pregnancies. I get them daily. Hope that helps 🙂
