16 weeks but no proper bump? I'm worried.

I know some people don't get a bump until later but I'm really worried. I keep seeing posts online of people who are also 16 weeks pregnant with a proper bump. I have bloating which I always have anyway.
And then slightly above my pelvis a smaller hard bit of a bump that hasn't really gotten bigger.
I've had 3 losses before so I'm really worried it could have happened again and it's another missed miscarriage.
People are even posting videos of the baby kicking! And you can see it on their tummy, they're also 16 weeks.

@NamelessBaby1 Yes I'll have a look on there. Thank you. I feel like I can feel a hardness below my belly button but it just doesn't seem big. But it does feel a bit different.

@LonglegsMumtheBlacksmith
Yes I'll speak to them on Thursday when I go to see them. I do have a number for them and my DP phoned them last week because I've had Covid and they were reassuring then because we were both very worried.
I will have a look at the July 2022 group that's been recommended as that's when I am due. Thank you 🌸

I was still in my normal size 10 jeans at 20 weeks. I honestly never got very big, my fundal height was so low that I kept having to go for extra scans but DS came out at 7.5lbs at 39+3! I think I only looked pregnant as opposed to "been at the tacos" at 30ish weeks. He was breech and sort of jammed up in my back and under my ribs.

I think it's partly genetics because my Mum was the exact same. Even though we're both 5'3 we just seem to carry small.

Try not to panic. It's normal for first time mums not to get a bump until 23/24 weeks. Mine popped all of a sudden then and you couldn't tell at all beforehand.

HappyAsASandboy · 31/01/2022 18:56

It is completely normal to not have a bump at 16 weeks, particularly in a first pregnancy when you still have abdominal muscle tone.

My first pregnancy was twins, and I wore a fitted dress suit to work every day and didn't tell them until 20 weeks. I felt that it was a bit tighter, but it wasn't sufficient for anyone else to notice; they were genuinely surprised to hear I was that pregnant, never mind with twins.

Sadcatsandcoffee · 01/02/2022 15:54

I didn't look pregnant AT ALL until at least 5 months and even then it was only really visible after a big meal. It 'popped' from about 24 weeks and now at 29 weeks I feel very pregnant (although it's still not always obvious- I got a flight last weekend and they didn't notice I was pregnant so I didn't bother showing my doctor's note!). I'm 5ft3 and was a size 10.

Try not to worry! I felt no movements at all- NOTHING- until 22 weeks and now I can feel him rolling around happily. Everyone is different.

timestheyarechanging · 01/02/2022 17:00

Don't worry! With my first I didn't show until 20+ weeks. Only put on 1.5 stone and she was absolutely fine and healthy. She's 22 now. Second one I did show much earlier though.

QuiltedHippo · 01/02/2022 17:07

I lost my marbles days before the 20 week scan as I had no bump or kicks, ended up at maternity assessment and they listened to the heartbeat. All was fine, never got huge and lost all the baby weight immediately, no stretchmarks either - so there were some benefits for me in not being too bumpy! I'm sure all is fine Flowers

smooshraspberry · 01/02/2022 17:16

My bump appeared well after 20 weeks and no kicks until a few weeks after that due to having anterior placenta. Please try not to worry. You'll be thankful you're not the size of a house I promise!

Hello All!
I just wanted to send an update! We've just been for a scan and the baby is absolutely fine! Very wriggly. So I'm really relieved. Thank you all for your lovely and reassuring messages. They've really helped 💛

OP this was my bump at 16 weeks! Please don’t worry, every woman is different :)

WindInTheWillows7 · 03/02/2022 14:00

I'm 19 weeks, no bump here!

gogohm · 03/02/2022 14:15

I didn't show until 22 weeks, I didn't feel a kick until 18 and you couldn't see it. I wouldn't believe these videos!

Congratulations op that's good news, when you feel regularly kicks when they are a bit bigger I found that helps with anxiety alot.
