Everything from sterilisers to cots to baths etc.!! One must have I remember from last baby was perfect prep machine but that’s all..!! Please help Smile xx

I'm going to chip in with saying somewhere to put him/her down, like a bouncy chair or swing. With all the will in the world you can't hold a baby all day so somewhere safe to pop them within sight while you have a coffee. Literally a sanity saver!

PS. Don't buy too many newborn nappies. They grow out of them so fast as I'm sure you'll remember.

Cold water Milton (etc) steriliser.

I don’t think there’s much that’s really absolutely essential, but I bought a white noise machine this time around and it’s been a great investment.

Oh and a sling! I didn’t use it with my first but with this baby it has been crucial.

Mommabear20 · 24/01/2022 15:35

A sling,
Bouncy/ rocking chair
Prep machine,
Steriliser,
An insane amount of muslins
A nice blanket for wrapping them up in for cuddles
Dummies
Bottles and teets
Moses basket and stand
Baby monitor
Sleeping bags
Playmat

And for you, COFFEE!

Pinklemonade16 · 24/01/2022 16:24

Thanks for your reply’s so far. @Mommabear20 I don’t drink coffee can’t stand it .!! I’m more of a tea girl Hmm. I see the tommee tippee super steam electric sterilizer on offer in tesco today for £45 but the reviews online wasn’t great? Would of been a great deal too.

The only must have for us was the sling, we went with the ergo baby 360, it's an investment but we use it everyday as he hates the pram (luckily a freebie off family do no wasted £) and it was a lifesaver in the early days when he didn't want to be put down but I needed to get up and do something for sanity.

Possibly contravertial but I wouldn't bother with a moses basket, go with a full size cot if you can get it in your bedroom or a next to me crib. Ours outgrew his moses basket at 10 weeks and slept loads better in the cot with more room.

All I bought in advance was a few clothes, muslins, a changing mat, a pram and a car seat plus nappies and cotton wool. Babies need very little

Big muslin cloths that do everything

A nice pouch for carrying the diaper changing stuff

Sling (iAngel carrier for after 4months Grin)

A small manual pump is good to have!

Trick!! You can use a pacifier holder to hold toys and teething rings near the baby/child Wink
