Ice Burn trying to turn breech baby!

I feel so stupid! I read online that you can try to turn a breech baby by placing an ice pack above the navel and a heat pack below it. I knew it was just an old wives tale but thought it wouldn't hurt to try it. I put an ice pack on my belly for about five minutes and thought nothing of it - it didn't feel that cold. I use them all the time on my face for headaches. But taking it off after I felt no movement or reaction for the baby, I saw that I'd created an ice burn - there's a blister! Now I'm worried that I've a) hurt the baby (surely not - the baby is under layers of skin, the amniotic sac and lots of fluid?) and b) really hurt myself! Also, I have my c-section on Monday so going to feel like a right idiot explaining the big blister on my belly!!

Looking for good vibes to make feel feel less like a complete fucking idiot!

You’ve hurt yourself but it won’t have had any impact on the baby.

That’s an old bloody wive’s tale if ever I heard one, where did you read that?!

I had a breech baby by ELCS in September- nothing was going to turn him, he came out with his feet up by his ears 😂

I’m glad because the ELCS was a good, calm experience.

If the baby is coming out on Monday anyway though I’m not sure what you were thinking Confused

Yes, I know. Total numpty. No idea what I was thinking either. Honestly, though, I use these packs all the time on my face and absolutely nothing happens. It was barely on my skin - the stomach skin must just be really sensitive because it's stretched.

Please don't beat yourself up about it! Might be worth speaking to your midwife about it incase you need to treat the affected area?
